Ask yourself what is important to you..Now imagine what that important thing is and someone taking it away or destroying it. Don't tell me you wouldn't be pissed.
Sure I would be pissed if it was stolen or destroyed. But if it was morally desecrated by someone else, I wouldn't suspend them or anything. My moral values are of my own and should never be forced onto others. The only thing that matters is physical damage to the item, which did not happen. If it did, he should simply be asked to pay for damages, not get suspended because of some moral trash reason.
The kid didn't wipe his hands on the flag as a form of protest. He wiped his hands on the school's auditorium flag because the bathroom had no napkins. He's just careless. I mean c'mon. He should at least be verbally reprimanded. His excuse is bullshit too, "I was falling so I grabbed the flag."
Um so was there like and American flag in the bathroom? where I am the only place you see a Canadian flag is on a flagpole in front of a school unless it's Canada day.
That flag is a symbol of what was fought for since this nations birth. We don't like people disrespecting it, It's disrespecting what we fought for. If you disagree your an ignorant prick and shouldn't mind if i wipe my hands over your shirt cause i don't care for your opinion of you not being my personal towel.
So would you be happy with me wiping my wet hands all over your flag? Probably not
english people rub their cocks on the union jack: do whatever you want lol
When this is a mass produced thing, I'm pretty sure there's no "respect" for the flag as a whole. Wiping your hands on it is hardly even worth an argument a page long, let alone 5. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=American+Flag+Underwear
It looks like that guy has a boner in the last picture
“[This has been] very traumatic,” Victoria Hinton, the boy's mother
1 million dollars pls
english people rub their cocks on the union jack: boners n shit do whatever you want lol
Pfft that's nothing compared to Jesus when are the fashion police gonna bust these people?
You guys and your obsession with a piece of cloth.
People take flags very seriously for some reason and I'm not sure why. Like it has to be folded in a very specific way and a bunch of other bullshit meanwhile it was most likely not even produced in the country.
Wow am I the only one who actually thinks suspension was an appropriate punishment?
yes, yes you are. [editline]10th June 2012[/editline]
People take flags very seriously for some reason and I'm not sure why. Like it has to be folded in a very specific way and a bunch of other bullshit meanwhile it was most likely not even produced in the country.
I don't even get it. it's a fucking piece of cloth. Some kid had to wipe his moist hands on it? either keep your fucking bathrooms stocked with paper towels or get the fuck over it
I speak for most of Northern North Americans when I say that this isn't a big fucking deal so please stop framing us to be overly patriotic [editline]11th June 2012[/editline]
english people rub their cocks on the union jack:
Holy shit, is that the lead singer of The Smiths?
Theres a certain amount of pride a lot of us put in the flag, I have a history of people in my family coming over here, fighting and sometimes dying for the country, and working hard here, so it seems a bit disrespectful that the kiddo did it, but all they had to do was explain why he might want to respect it for what it symbolizes, not suspend him over getting it wet.
Wow am I the only one who actually thinks suspension was an appropriate punishment?
Yes [editline]11th June 2012[/editline]
However I hardly see someone asking to respect the nations flag as extreme
There's a difference between asking and forcing. This kid wasn't asked to respect the US flag, he was forced to. [editline]11th June 2012[/editline]
They are more than welcomed to explain to him why they'd like to see him respect it, but if he chooses not to, they should drop it. The kid doesn't need to.
this was our previous prime minister am I a heretic now do I need suspension for disrespecting a great symbol of our nation
ATMs?
What as in it came out with dicks drawn all over it or putting money in since I know some banks let you do that.
i think it's pretty disrespectful but not punishable. if anything he'd have to pay for a new flag but even that is too much considering it's washable.
It's 2012, why are flags needed? People need to stop living in the stoneage.
can't have america without the flag hanging in every single corner of the streets
It's 2012, why are flags needed? People need to stop living in the stoneage.
Well first of all, I'm pretty sure there weren't that many flags in the stone age. Second, how is a country having a flag primitive, and what is, "why are flags needed?" supposed to mean? As if there was some point in history we did need them, but now they're just passé , and we should just get rid of them.
You don't need to get rid of them, just don't suspend a 13 year old kid because of them.
that kid is a citizen of the united states of america therefore his perception of value of the american flag is as legitimate as everyone else's therefore he is not in the wrong for wiping his hands on it gosh you people think you have some kind of superior moral ownership of the flag just because you happen to associate it with cherrypicked good parts of the country's history
sex i am
An American flag isn't worth $1.5m.
You're right. The American flag has no price. Watch your blaspheming mouth hole boy.
Wow lol, I went to Plaza when I was Middle School a couple years ago.
son of a bitch this is overkill I mean I get the whole "disrespect the country" schtick, but this kid obviously didn't mean anything political by it, he just wanted to dry his hands. At least check and make sure it wasn't political before you start persecuting. At this rate they're going to start throwing people into iron maidens because they looked at the flag funny.
Dumb of him to do it, dumb of everyone else to overreact. Everyone is dumb.
You guys and your obsession with a piece of cloth.
Just going to point this out: Americans never make fun of other peoples being nationalistic.
At this rate they're going to start throwing people into iron maidens because they looked at the flag funny.
Hardly. And no one said it was political or not, it's simply their pride in their flag... Which is pretty dumb in its own accord.
