Except that the Russian Space Program has been and will continue to be calm and reasonable.

I honestly doubt, if Russia gets to the moon, they will tear down the American flag. No matter what, it's a sign that we've been on the moon from that time, it's like a piece of history up there. I doubt the Russian Space Program will do any harm to it.

Uh, yeah. The mission is called Luna 25 for a reason, man. It's pretty clear from context both in the title and in the article that this is a return to unmanned landings, "paving the way" for later manned landings.
They can barely afford their new T-50 fighter I highly doubt they can really secure the funds to send a manned mission to the moon. It'd be cool though.
I'm excited about the possibility of watching a moon landing live.
I just imagine if Russia lands on the moon, one of the cosmonauts are probably going to tear down the american flag we got up there.
No need, they'll simply claim it was their flag/lander to begin with, and that the sun's harsh rays have bleached the glorious Red Star from them.
You know, with China and India also starting to want to land on the moon, I think a second space race may be coming around the corner for which country wants to be second.

I know facepunch has a hateboner for russia, but that would require them to specifically go out of their way just to take a flag that's now complete white due to radiation.
I mean, come on.

Not to mention that every normal drinking russian knows that that there was no moon landing, it was all staged and made in Hollywood. So there's no point for us to hunt the flag, since there is, you know, no flag there.

The US should go back again before anyone else does.
another country is doing something in space again so now others will too, it's disappointing though the only reasons for getting involved in any space exploration are purely political
If the desire to keep up with the Ivanovs and the Wangs is what it takes to get America back into space, then so be it I guess.
Time to liberate some repressed Russian minorities again.
Good thing we have Elon Musk and Space X. Government is falling way behind on this stuff.
