• Trump campaign has been begging for money from foreign politicians, including British MPs

It probably won't happen, but if Trump's campaign flounders like it appears to be doing, AND Hillary gets clapped in irons for her activities, what happens to the presidential race? Which candidates would be most likely to fill the void left by the prime crooks?

I actually don't think there's a law against convicted felons being elected President - if Hillary goes to jail on November 7, and gets elected the day after, she can just pardon herself on January 20 (which opens up a can of worms in itself). What's more likely is that the VP candidate will take over mid-campaign, if either is removed for legal reasons. But again, there's really no procedures for this, because I don't think it's ever happened before, at least at a federal level.
tbh if they are using whatever@example.com I don't blame them for sending to it but if the address was whatever@example.uk that should have thrown hella red flags

You can be an American citizen living abroad, for example. Or living in the US but working for a UK company. How do other campaigns deal with this, I wonder? Err on the side of caution in every way? Have some sort of click-through agreement saying "I am a US citizen or national"? Do they just not ask for donations over email? It seems like there should be a solution to this.

But it's still illegal if it isn't resolved. Bernie had similar problems with the FEC and foreign contributions. They sent him letters about reported disparities in his donations documents, including some individuals donating over $2700. They have to either correct their records if a mistake was made, or refund those individuals their money over the contribution limit. Or the individual personally reattributes their donations to another individual (who also has to sign). Or the individual redesignates their money for a different election (for example, donating $3000 and then writing $300 to the Tim Canova campaign). When it comes to solicitation, I can't find much. The letter the FEC sent to Sanders suggests that, if probed by the FEC, the campaign is required to make a "reasonable inquiry" into the contributor's nationality. This includes "seeking or obtaining" a US passport from the contributor. The letter explicitly states that the "safe harbor" is unavailable to campaigns who solicit donations from people they know are foreign nationals. That's where the trouble could come up. Unless foreign nationals have actually donated to the Trump campaign using foreign addresses or checks from foreign banks, he likely won't get into that much trouble. But the FEC investigating that could cause trouble if anyone has done so. I don't have faith that the clusterfuck of the Trump campaign has turned away foreign donations.
Yep. I just heard from a sitting Labor MP in Australia that they received a fundraising email from Trump directly to their official email. I don't understand why - Australian Labor could not be further from Trump or the GOP.

If there's even a marginal chance that they can scrounge a donation from someone, they'll take it.
I think the weirdest thing about this is that, as far as I'm aware, it's only targetting foreign politicians. If it was just sending it out to whatever emails they could find I guess some reaching foreigners would be inevitable but if it's only politicians, someone within the campaign would have to be intentionally targetting them, no?
Is it even legal for him to get donations from foreign politicians? And if so, why?

If done on purpose, it would be common sense to only target politicians who you KNOW support you. I just think something is fishy here. I'm willing to accept if I'm wrong, but this could be a hacker, imposter, or someone trying to damage him so he can't run. Of course it's entirely possible that it's legit as well, and once again, he should have the appropriate punishment/fine for this if he did. But it just strikes me as odd and fishy.
a Local newspaper apparently states they have been trying to get money from us. No clue how viable that source of information is but it's there. If both Donald and Hillary (Due to the massive data mismanagement) would be impeached that would be great thanks.
Guys he's using a listserv Its the equivalent of nigerian prince email scams you can't really control who they go to Someone even said earlier that foreign email domains can't even apply because you can be a U.S. citizen living abroad with such an email The legal case for this would be to find out who signed up the foreign emails for Trump donation spam
