I bet that the final Boss Battle (and there will be one) will have the two campaigns meet. Like, Chell needs a certain item to use in one room, and the bots are in another room sending the items to her.

You're not attacking the enemy team, you're solving a puzzle. It's a lot easier to communicate with one other guy than a team full of 16 people.
