Pitty you won't be able to achieve this in Crysis 2 because it's been console raped to fuck.
You know, at this point I'd call you a silly uninformed duck considering how Crytek have documented the pipeline for their engine: create assets on PC > compressed to run on 360/PS3. After seeing how the PC demo worked *press start to begin HURR* the aim assist and the dumbed down graphics settings, I think the PC version did get a bit wanked on. I'm sure the PC version will be fine, once modders get their hands on it. Sandbox 2 was very powerful as I'm sure this one will be too. Just hope it doesn't crash all the time.
so what, we're supposed to just bend over and accept half-assed content that we're paying good dollars for? fuck that
No, but try to understand how difficult it is to be a multiplatform game. It has to be good\stable for as many people as it can so that the game can turn a profit. If Crytek stuck with pc exlcusives while developing games of this caliber, they would be bankrupt. Is reaching a larger audience with ports such a crime?
I thought the DEMO was the port, not the game? [editline]7th March 2011[/editline] Also holy fucking shit at the maya part
Demo = demonstration of the finished product. Based on the current demo, I will not be buying Crysis 2, unless they sell it at 5€ a piece.
Gotta do some CPR to my GFX card now.
You've played the MULTIPLAYER demo. Which is quite clearly a badly done port of the 360 demo to perform some sort of damage control due to the leak. And besides, to the guy who said that the nanosuit is destroyed and lacking features now, all they've done is combine speed and strength into one mode that is on by default, streamlining the gameplay and making it easier for people to move about. Additionally, you can modify your nanosuit on the fly using the suit modules you purchase with credits you earn throughout the game.
Demo = demonstration of the finished product.
Read please:
lmao Aim Assistance has no effect unless you're actually using the Xbox pad to play - this was even confirmed on the Steam forums.
Plugin xbox pad, enable aim assist, play with keyboard and mouse -> instant aimbot.
Plugin xbox pad, enable aim assist, play with keyboard and mouse -> instant aimbot.
nope
nope
Doesn't work for me too.
HHHHNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG--
Oh. My. Gawd. [editline]7th March 2011[/editline] Time to start saving up, I guess
Demo = demonstration of the finished product. Based on the current demo, I will not be buying Crysis 2, unless they sell it at 5€ a piece.
are you dumb
The new Crytek slogan should definitely be: Crytek - Keeping it REAL
nope
Oh, it worked for me the other day so maybe I did something else.
Read please: [img_thumb]http://www.crunchgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/crysis2demo.jpg[/img_thumb]
THANK YOU! Goddamit...
Plugin xbox pad, enable aim assist, play with keyboard and mouse -> instant aimbot.
Do you really think crytek would be so stupid and miss that? They obviously check where the latest input came from, or disable the keyboard when the gamepad is set as default controller.
Seeing as it was the DEMO that was ported from the consoles due to a lack of time to create a proper PC demo (which they weren't even planning on making until the PC fans started whining about how the Xbox was getting a demo when they weren't), I doubt the actual PC game will be as "console-raped" as you guys think it will be.

Is reaching a larger audience with ports such a crime?
you don't understand my point, i don't give two fucks if they make console counterparts to PC games, in fact, i encourage it as it will stimulate not only the video gaming community but the economy as well; more purchases are always a good thing. however, releasing software that contains content from an entirely different platform is not excusable, if anything i'd consider it sloppy programming and development. release multiplatform games, fine, but do it right. the pc version of crysis 2 should be adapted to work well on PC and contain the standard features that all games do; the console version of the game should be optimized for whatever console it will be running on and then dumbed down to make for easier function with a controller. all these things should keep separate, they shouldn't be attempting to create an engine that will work well on all three platforms without further modification. what they're doing is lazy, and i'm not going to pay $60 for half-assed work, and the people who do pay for it are only encouraging the lack of effort involved. if they want to release a shoddy port than they should chop the pricetag in half.
if they want to release a shoddy port than they should chop the pricetag in half.
As long as people pay the full price for a port, it's awwright for them
Eh, I'm not denying that this is amazing and all but for some reason I was more impressed with the UE3 engine tech demo.
Eh, I'm not denying that this is amazing and all but for some reason I was more impressed with the UE3 engine tech demo.
Kinda surprising seeing as UE3 demo showed some minor stuff.
Eh, I'm not denying that this is amazing and all but for some reason I was more impressed with the UE3 engine tech demo.
Same. CryEngine is really good at creating foliage, trees and shit. It has some pretty good lightning as well. But the Unreal Engine really got the overall atmosphere blended well together with small details doing the overall finish. What they both lack is good anti-aliasing though by the looks of it. Really hate all those blurry yet jaggy edges. (Most visible when doing blurs)

CryEngine 3 is an amazing piece of tech. Only the Frostbite 2 engine seems to challenge the graphics quality looking at the BF3 trailers, but that's an internal engine. CryEngine is a whole suit of developer tools.
Do you really think crytek would be so stupid and miss that? And yeah, I do because the demo is obviously a console port.
Why are you all complaining about a free DEMO? Fucking hell. "This piece of shit free toy at McDonalds breaks too easily!! I WANT A REFUND!"
Why are you all complaining about a free DEMO? Fucking hell. "This piece of shit free toy at McDonalds breaks too easily!! I WANT A REFUND!"
It comes with the meal that you paid for, so it's not fucking free
What the fuck... They've gone too far :ohdear:
It comes with the meal that you paid for, so it's not fucking free
Only casuals pay for McDonalds meals.
