I want That fucking SANDBOX.
My only complaint is how streamlined the suit is. It was one of the single best features of the first game. Want speed mode? Ok, sacrifice armor in exchange for a boost in speed when moving regularly, and sacrificing energy when sprinting. Want enhanced strength, ok sacrifice armor for more bullet strength, higher jumping, and steady aiming. Now it's just, most of these modes are passive with the exception of a select few features. The nanosuit 2.0 certainly feels like a nanosuit 0.5.

Graphics clearly make a game nowadays I guess... sigh...
This is really cool! Too bad Crysis 2 isn't going to as amazing as I first imagined it to be.
It comes with the meal that you paid for, so it's not fucking free
Well you can ask for one without a meal and they'll give you it. Also, I am an extremely uninformed newbie to the sandbox editor, but I want to play around with it so much.
Graphics clearly make a game nowadays I guess... sigh...
No, but they help a lot

Again, don't know if it's true, but it would make things better.
Holy fucking shit that is amazing.

In 2nd one you get some half assed suit that you can fully use only when the game ends
Words can't describe this, bravo crytek. :golfclap:
Why are you all complaining about a free DEMO? Fucking hell. "This piece of shit free toy at McDonalds breaks too easily!! I WANT A REFUND!"
Criticism isn't allowed?
you don't understand my point, i don't give two fucks if they make console counterparts to PC games, in fact, i encourage it as it will stimulate not only the video gaming community but the economy as well; more purchases are always a good thing. however, releasing software that contains content from an entirely different platform is not excusable, if anything i'd consider it sloppy programming and development. release multiplatform games, fine, but do it right. the pc version of crysis 2 should be adapted to work well on PC and contain the standard features that all games do; the console version of the game should be optimized for whatever console it will be running on and then dumbed down to make for easier function with a controller. all these things should keep separate, they shouldn't be attempting to create an engine that will work well on all three platforms without further modification. what they're doing is lazy, and i'm not going to pay $60 for half-assed work, and the people who do pay for it are only encouraging the lack of effort involved. if they want to release a shoddy port than they should chop the pricetag in half.
But these issues you're talking about are extremely trivial, and not to mention subjective. Just because you disagree with changes (control schemes) does not mean that the game had a lazy development. Porting to console does not equate to dumbing down, consoles have only one control scheme so adaptation will have to occur. What I am trying to get at is PC gaming will always be the safe bet of all platforms. We can handle (usually) the brunt of most games, but why are we not acting like it? We are the smallest financial gain out of all 3\4 platforms (if it's a multiplatform game) and if all we can do is complain and moan about these trivial matters like graphics fidelity and broken demo main menus, we're only serving to force developers to abandon our platform because the vocal minority says they're lazy. Furthemore, the best we can do is support and buy these pc games. The more business developers get out of us, the higher priority we get because they see us as a viable market.

[editline]8th March 2011[/editline] :frog:
I don't think you remember how IMMENSELY LOUD the cloak was with the Nanosuit 1. Being tactically stealthy against the Nanosuit 2 which can be upgraded to not only be completely silent when walking, but also remove the shadow being cast would be downright suicide. I am glad they made these changes, as it will be (and has been) easier to spot people hacking. I remember in Crysis Wars playing against people who just speed hacked everywhere. But it was so slightly added that it was not apparent if they ran straight. The only way you could catch them was if you saw them strafe back and forth so quickly you couldn't even aim at them.
That's retarded. In the first game you get a fully functional suit from the very beginning. In 2nd one you get some half assed suit that you can fully use only when the game ends
Well, from what I've heard of the story it actually makes sense...
jizz.
Well, from what I've heard of the story it actually makes sense...
I don't give a shit about the story, I want to use my suit to the max. Not some shit downgrade.

So this is next gen... wow... I wonder what the standard next gen card is?
I don't give a shit about the story, I want to use my suit to the max. Not some shit downgrade.
Challenge makes a game more enjoyable. Fact. They didn't do it for the story, derp.
The next gen card is probably going to be something with a thermal creation capability equivalent to that of a Nuclear Power Plant. As for that challenge thing. It's true. I prefer playing against people more skilled than me in DOWII as it is just more fun than going against someone that you smear against the walls.
so what, we're supposed to just bend over and accept half-assed content that we're paying good dollars for? fuck that
I find it sad that so many people agreed to this post. Two questions. 1: What exactly is half assed? The graphics still look incredible, despite being locked to DX9 (which is obviously just because of the demo), it's incredibly well optimized, and the gameplay is smooth and controls well. Are you honestly going to say that the devs shat this out because the PC demo said "Press Start to Begin"? 2: Did you have fun while playing the demo? If the answer is yes then what the fuck are you complaining about.
It's gonna suck when I try to do something half as awesome as something in this trailer, only to get discouraged and give up.
You've played the MULTIPLAYER demo. Which is quite clearly a badly done port of the 360 demo to perform some sort of damage control due to the leak. And besides, to the guy who said that the nanosuit is destroyed and lacking features now, all they've done is combine speed and strength into one mode that is on by default, streamlining the gameplay and making it easier for people to move about. Additionally, you can modify your nanosuit on the fly using the suit modules you purchase with credits you earn throughout the game.
Lack of speed mode/strength mode made me cancel my preorder. I want the freedom of the first game, if I was walking about and a Korean noticed me from afar, to silence him I would dash across the terrain in a split second and choke hold the fucker, strength mode and toss him into a house collapsing the house along with him. Not to mention speed modes useful fast reloading and quick bashing and weapon swapping, iron sighting. Now the new upgraded suit does allow you to do strength mode and some other shit at once, but at what cost, I can't spring as long as I want anymore I'm slow as fuck, and you have to HOLD to perform strength options (which somewhat takes away from the strategic thinking of how to plan on using your suit for what function, and not to mention it's strength hit mode is non existent in the MP. Even with all the parkour shit they added, the game still feels a lot more linear than the first, in both single player and multiplayer. Basically the MP now is just who has more armor mode left at the start of a firefight, and who gets a random headshot with the scar first. Plus this whole codified bullshit, why the fuck did they get rid of the old buy system for this rank bullshit. Also killstreaks? Were they really even fucking necessary, for a game that's going to supposedly contain vehicles in their maps, what's the point of having killstreaks which summon an AI vehicle to play for you?
You have to realize though, speed mode is in multiplayer, it's when you aren't using Cloak or Armor. When you have neither of them active, you can run twice as fast. And be honest, when in your entire playtime of the multiplayer demo, have you even slightly needed to pick someone up? I'm just saying, it works great when you have loads of enemies swarming you, but when your in a multiplayer match with real people, it's useless.

Not wobbling awkwardly fast for about 3 meters then running out of gas.
sprinting for like 2 seconds and running out of energy is more of a Crysis 1 thing but still I do agree that I prefer the original nanosuit
sprinting for like 2 seconds and running out of energy is more of a Crysis 1 thing but still I do agree that I prefer the original nanosuit
That's if you were in speed mode, you could still sprint for as long as you wanted with armour/strength mode on. And with speed mode you could still sprint for as long as you wanted, but if your energy was drained you couldn't do a dash. Oh and I'm not enterly sure but is it possible to use multiple weapon attachments on your gun in the MP of Crysis 2? As in customize your weapon on the fly or was that "streamlined" too?
