You're right in many things, but you act too naively liberal. Face it: If a group of immigrants refuses to fit into the society they just became part of, while they wish to enjoy its benefits, said group of immigrants is more problematic than useful. (Of course, not talking of all and every single immigrants, just those of them who wish to behead those who thnik different than they do, and who want to warp Europe to fit THEIR view of the world, instead of changing to fit in better.) And such problematic groups are an outright threat. Not because they'll start bombing or anything, but because they will cause conflicts left and right, and not in the meaning that "Herp da evil locals are so intolerant baww", but rather with everyone being intolerant towards the other, them included. And in such a case... In a democratic society, you gotta benefit the MAJORITY. And this majority happens to be the european locals.

Stopping the bloodthirsty mobs is not by going to the opposite extreme.
Though, from another viewpoint, the consensus of two opposite extremes creates the "golden mean" solution.. But that requires a consensus, not the two extremes trying to prove they are 100% right for eternity, with no useful outcome whatsoever. That's american politics, and is silly.
