Some people thought the Titanic was just a movie and not a real boat.
I assume that some people dont know that 9/11 happened.
I can't believe that I actually have to clarify whenever I say something sarcastic.
Doubt it.
you mean to tell me that you honestly believe a significant number of american teens are completely unaware that 9/11 ever occurred
itd be funny if terrorists destroyed the new WTC while it was under construction
Your title really suits you Kopimi.
they may not remember what they were doing when it happened but the 2000 era has been molded by 9/11, 9/11 is a common term and there are reminders of what happened that day everywhere you turn. whether or not an 8th grader remembers watching it happen on live tv, they definitely know that it happened
a comparable tragedy is that the small aware minority may not even know why beyond osama bin laden iraqi terrorism.

osama bin laden was a terrorist from iraq who helped orchestrate the 9/11/91 attacks on the united states
in 2005 we invaded iraq and deposed president bin laden and killed him but his deputy saddam hussein is still hiding in either iran or communist norway
the titanic didn't happen in this generations lifetime
I just imagine a 16 year old reading that article and not knowing much about the event.
I think most people here forget that our generation was just old enough to care and/ or remember this event.

I remember back in like ~2006 all these middle schoolers on the news didn't know what 9/11 or Osama Bin Ladin was. And my friend;s younger brother (he is like 16) didn't know who Osama was either.
9-11-2001

A Tower to Remember
hahaha freedom tower, america stay classy

This.
When 9/11 happened, our generation was in 2->5 grade, or just old enough to remember it. That was 11 years ago. Everyone who is in the 8 grade now (apx. 13 y/o) would have been 3 when it happened. No recollection of events. No image memory of people jumping from high-rise buildings, two planes hitting the towers, and the start of the now-dwindling war on terror.
Im not saying that a significant amount people wont know about it; but just like the titanic, many wont. 9/11 didnt happen in their generation. 9/11 barely happened in our generation. Their lucky because it was a national event and it is and will be something to remember for many years to come.
They definitely succeeded in spreading terror but they didn't really win did they considering the US invaded their country and killed them
They did manage to turn an optimistic nation that was pretty prideful on it's head in fear to the point where the foundations of the nation were trashed for better security against terrorism.
I mean their goal was to destroy American freedom, and they seem to have done a damn good job. Granted not nearly as good a job as Wall St.

That's different. You're not talking about 9/11, you were talking about how it would be funny if it would happen AGAIN just to get attention. Titanic happened a century ago and it still wouldn't be funny if a similar thing happened again.
They had to

Well actually a lot of bureaucratic bullshit did severely slow the plans for reconstruction. Not the builders' fault, though.
Personally, I think it looks pretty awesome.
Also, wasn't this building in Crysis 2, if I Remember correctly?
All the new building were also in Modern Warfare 3. Just a fact.
They should have built the original towers, but 10x the size and every 5 seconds it breaths fire and says REMEMBER ME
sounds like a hot sauce ad
Freedom tower? Horse shit jingoism. Freedom is continually being erased in the US and across other western "democracies" much with the original two towers being used as an excuse.
Nice tower, retarded name.

You just hate freedom
Yeah you're right I do, why aren't you at work paying taxes right now? My half sister needs medicare but she can't pay so you should.
When I see this tower and its name I can just imagine whoever had this idea's thinking as "Tall tower gets targeted by terrorists ? Build an even bigger target !".
I saw it in New York a few weeks ago. I like the modern look of it.
why bother putting up the facade and pretending that we overcame anything, the terrorists won
the country has fundamentally changed and a lot of our rights were trampled on as a result of the attacks, clearly the attacks weren't "useless" considering they did what they set out to do, hurt america. how is there no fear of terrorism? people see a muslim in an airport and immediately call security and now senior citizens are getting molested at the airport just in case there is some form of explosive device in their catheter, america is still terrified of terrorism
Sad how insanely true this is
we can pretend they lost by removing all the shit security and policies put into place

I visited NY 3 weeks ago and visited the towers, looks pretty impressive..also with the pools where the old towers stood, it really is a very beautiful monument.
