Got Portal 2 for a friend and myself from a fellow Facepuncher for the Sam and Max set of items. Yeah I know I could of got quite a bit more value out of the set but I didn't really care. Only thing I didn't like about the deal was that I didn't like Portal 2 that much.
I hate people complaining about how hats changed tf2 and that now the game is all about hats. It's still the same game at the core, but with cosmetic items.
Yeah, now the weapons on the other hand, those are a bit harder to ignore.
Yet another reason for me to love valve.
I just haven't been able to play this game anymore since that whole man-conomy or whatever update. I feel like the hats and new weapons are totally out of place and ruined the feel of the game. And that whole newer menu makes skyrim's interface look inviting. I wish it was still the same game that came out in 2007, a much more stylized Team Fortress Classic.
Game is still the same I don't know what you're talking about. Nobody is crying about OP weapons or pay2win
Society amazes me with it's incredibly odd quirks at times. The guy with all the hats is probably like Dude with hats: "HAHAHA, I have all the hats in all the versions, therefore you are inferior!" Average, level headed citizen: "Cool, dude. Hey, you up for that round of Dustbowl?" Dwh: "NO, I DON'T PLAY WITH HATLESS PEASANTS ANYMORE, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Alhc: "...Okay, you holler when you wanna play some games okay?"
I used to farm TF2 items with multiple accounts, then create random hats to then trade off for other things. I did this through multiple transactions and through a dedicated sell account. Basically how I got my games in college without disposable income.
See, the only thing that bothers me about this trading spiel in TF2 is that I'll get randomly messaged by some shmuck while I'm busy playing the game, or rather they randomly invite me to trade, and then they insist that I trade them *insert item here*. I don't buy into the whole "it's valuable" crap, I just use whatever hat looks good, and so far I have one decent class-fitting hat for each class.
This is exactly why I stopped playing TF2. It went from a game to an economy in one update. On the bright side though, all my cosmetic hats and weapons got me quite a few steam games.

Seeing things like this make me feel bad for my friend who traded his Max head away the day trading came out for one hat. It's worth... what, now, like 150 dollars?
Nah, not that much. It's something like $50-60 or so.
Game is still the same I don't know what you're talking about. Nobody is crying about OP weapons or pay2win
What are you talking about people complain about OP weapons all the time But yeah, at least there's no pay-to-win
Gabe Newell for president.
Only Gabe could turn a FPS into a self sustaining economy. Wait, how much money does valve make then?
I saw couple playing heavy and medic with matching avatars and sets of matching unusuals. I think I saw at least 4 matching sets. I went targe and saber demo and kept suicide oneshoting them until they got mad. :smugdog: [sp]Forever alone[/sp] [editline]20th December 2011[/editline]
Society amazes me with it's incredibly odd quirks at times.
What are you talking about people complain about OP weapons all the time
Yes people do but their arguments are usually bullshit anyway, for the most part TF2 is one of the most balanced games I've ever played and while it is less balanced than before it's still remarkable how balanced it is when you consider how many weapons it has and compare it to other games [editline]20th December 2011[/editline]
See, the only thing that bothers me about this trading spiel in TF2 is that I'll get randomly messaged by some shmuck while I'm busy playing the game, or rather they randomly invite me to trade, and then they insist that I trade them *insert item here*. I never understood how people came up with these "prices" and set "values" for what is essentially a barter system Yet some moron makes a spreadsheet and everyone decides that the prices in the spreadsheet are somehow some sort of set standard
i need to find some of these people that are willing to trade games for hats. I have a couple of cools ones myself

All the time I'm hearing bullshit like "Oh yeah that's totally worth 10 earbuds or 7 Max's heads" or some stupid shit like that. Makes me feel like I'm in prison listening to people trading candy bars for cigarettes.
I can see it now. in 10 years, we will all be trading on the NYHE- New York Hat Exchange. Everyday hundreds of people will suit up, log in, and trade on TF2.
Will the Ghastly Gibus be the Euro?

I can't bring myself to play Tf2 anymore. No medieval mode update, community items which can only be unboxed or found (fat chance), and £7 weapons from that stupid as fuck company. This is not the same Valve as the Valve that is giving away the free games and coupons in the Winter sale. This is shallow scum driving what used to be a thoughtful community where you were rewarded for playing for a long time with the best items; hats, into a shithole where the people with the most money or the best scamming skills get the best items. Getting a hat from a drop now is almost impossible thanks to the drop cap which is obviously only there to make more money out of people. Getting good items with keys is like winning roulette with one chip. I joined a server yesterday and one team had 6-7 premium players by pure coincidence, and mine had 2 (including me). Of course, the moment the gates open there's crit stickies and coordinated fire blowing the F2P crap to pieces. And in the true spirit of the game, the scramble is rejected. Theres no more real "free" updates thanks to the greed, there haven't been *maps added for ages, and we haven't had any new game modes. The only thanks Valve gets from me is for making an enjoyable game pristine for years. Now its dead to me. * Didn't see Foundry in the update page. My bad.

For those who disagree, the drop cap was added looong before trading came around, and it was even said by Valve that it was due to idlers because they got all sorts of bitchmail from their fans about how it wasn't fair that these people who idle get all sorts of items while those who just play the game do not.
brb, making TF2 hats.
Will the Ghastly Gibus be the Euro?
Not sure. The Euro would be replaced with something more common. Gibus's would be more like gold ingots.
I've got my fair share of dosh and games out of selling hats.
Not sure. The Euro would be replaced with something more common. Gibus's would be more like gold ingots.
No actually, The Ghastly Gibus would be the Euro, Ghastlier as silver, And Ghastlierest as Gold.
tf2 owns for bonus money, once i cash out after christmas i can get ~$2000 alone for just my unusuals, without spending money on tf2 at all (apart from the initial purchase)
I'm feeling like farming hats for weeks now, because of all the stories of people earning a shitton of money from this. Playing games to get money. The Paradise.
Playing games to get money. The Paradise.
Asian MMO farmers disagree.
Where can I sell my hat for dosh?
World's economy saved by Valve
When are they going to remove the shooting mini-game? It distracts me from trading hats.
