hmmm Repeal Patriot Act petition seems to have been removed altogether
This is awesome! Maybe this will get the ball rolling for some changes; starting with the Federal Legalization and regulation of Marijunana, as well as complete decriminalization of Marijunana possession.
Do you need to be of voting age to make an account for signing?
I can't wait to see how many signatures the "Legalize and Regulate Marijuana in a Manner Similar to Alcohol" petition has by the end of the week.
or I can't see it on the main petition hub
Has to reach 150 signatures to appear on the main list.
Most all of the petitions are about pot. Really America? I am a bit disgusted that all the stoners have to create their own petition instead of just one big one.

I honestly don't know what to think of that one.
That legalize and regulate pot petition is gonna go way past 5,000 within this week. It's almost to 5,000 today.

Don't think, vote.
Fight the man

Lucky bastards.

Tax the Rich? Good/Bad Idea?
Reposting, I'd like to see this reach at least 150 so it can go public:
I still think we should make a petition that tells senators they have to work five days a week and take a pay cut.
You know, I said this to my U.S. History teacher some time ago, and he gave me an interesting rebuttal: Most of our politicians in congress have had very expensive/high-class educations, and could be getting a job pretty much anywhere, and be making much more money. And the best way to get someone to work is to pay them some money. (congress salary is 174,000 a year) I used my computer's calculator and it said a little under a billion dollars is spent on their salaries in a year. That's not much in the terms of government spending. It made me think
Oh, and signed the marijuana one.
In the time it took to register, there were over 200 signatures placed on the marijuana one.

Signed, that sounds like a good idea.

Well that was fast
what'll ruin this is people creating hundreds of accounts to macro their own shit...
Wow the weed one has already gone past 5k; too bad it'll probably be ignored.

Its all about the power.

I doubt it will get ignored. The most I'm expecting is a formal response on how the White House can't do anything immediate with the petition.
Something like that or a TBA response that never gets released.

What the fuck do people expect the Federal government to do about animal adoption rates?
You need an account to sign these. Probably so Obummer knows who to send to the FEMA death camps.

Shut down puppy mills and ban the sale of animals at pet stores
Shut down puppy mills and ban the sale of animals at pet stores
Even better:
Every year in the United States, an estimated 6 to 8 million lost, abandoned, or unwanted dogs and cats enter animal shelters and nearly half of these animals—many of them healthy, young, and adoptable—must be euthanized because there are too many animals and not enough good homes.
This tragedy occurs because people don't spay and neuter their animals and because greedy breeders continue to churn out more puppies. Because all dogs and cats are precious and because no more animals need to be bred when so many others go without hope of being adopted, PETA is calling for a mandatory spay-and-neuter law until all dogs and cats in the United States have a home to call their own.
Sign the petition calling for a mandatory spay-and-neuter law to help end the animal overpopulation crisis.
They want the government to cut the balls off of every animal in the country. That way PETA doesn't "have to" kill over 90% of the animals in its shelters to keep the population low. :v:
From the response page
We will do our best to respond to petitions that meet this threshold in a timely manner, but it may take a few weeks to issue an official response
Ya, the response will probably be months. Either that or it will respond too quickly and be something like an automated message.
Most all of the petitions are about pot. Really America? I am a bit disgusted that all the stoners have to create their own petition instead of just one big one.
That's a grossly ignorant statement. I care colossally more for the war on drugs, drug cartels, and the taboo image of drugs, all of which are responsible for countless deaths and irreparable damages, than I do for drugs themselves.
