all i can really say to you is, if you're not gay odds are you won't understand the way gays feel. and i'm not so sure if people who hate gays are a minority, especially in russia
People who give a shit about something beyond their everyday lives are always minority, and majority can only be driven to accept something minority does. That's why societies are at all able to progress (or regress), that's why political structures change, ideologies change etc.
He is a very cool guy. That saying is p. fucked tho.
Sounds more like a massively stupid jackoff than a 'cool guy', and saying that is entirely fucked and stupid.
How are gay people a threat to his children?
They'll get contaminated with the gays
Even if they HEAR about homosexuals they'll get the gays
Protect your children from the worst disease of all, the gays
I'm not gonna let anyone cram my best friend into an oven!

One of the best russian modern actors, a man with a fascinatic life story, generally a man with priorities set in stone, not a posing celebrity, businessman.
I disagree with his views on homosexuality, yes. But I understand that these come from his belief. He is an ex-priest after all.
So he IS a cool guy in my opinion. He just has some ideas I can't agree with, which is fine.

Those ideas just happen to involve MASS GENOCIDE
Russian media shit all over that saying of his too and he actually explained his intentions. Maybe foreign media will post it too.

Perhaps. There was one artist guy with these ideas and he did nothing wrong, except for that one little thing I can't remember.

Perfectly fine.

yeah i dunno dude, people stop being cool when they start talking about exterminating minority groups
[editline]17th December 2013[/editline]
like, that's less 'an idea i can't agree with' and more an 'abhorrent ignorant idea that anyone with a shred of empathy should condemn'
Russian media shit all over that saying of his too and he actually explained his intentions. Maybe foreign media will post it too.
I noticed where his intentions were explained by himself too, I singled it out incase anyone missed it:
"I would put all the gays alive into an oven"
What? He literally CONFIRMED his statements.
There's more even.

All he wants to do is burn gays alive in ovens, I mean come on guys no big deal right?
yeah i dunno dude, it's quite a lot different when you're the member of a minority. when you're straight, people saying 'kill all straights' can be brushed off, they will never be a majority they will never wield the power to fulfill their desires
If straight people were the minority then the human race would die off you dingus, no one would want to kill all straight people off
If straight people were the minority then the human race would die off you dingus, no one would want to kill all straight people off
nice man you completely missed the point
nice man you completely missed the point
its still a ridiculous metaphor, I understand your point about how it would feel if the shoe were on the other foot, but I mean you could use one that can be more apropriatly used
its still a ridiculous metaphor, I understand your point about how it would feel if the shoe were on the other foot, but I mean you could use one that can be more apropriatly used
It's not a ridiculous metaphor, what he said is true.
He wasn't even talking about straight people being a minority, how the fuck did you manage to get that from what he said? He specifically pointed out people who say to 'kill all whites' are a minority and can never act on their judgement of other people due to not being in positions of enough power to act on it.
its still a ridiculous metaphor, I understand your point about how it would feel if the shoe were on the other foot, but I mean you could use one that can be more apropriatly used
what else would i compare being gay with? it's not ridiculous maybe you're the dingus?
his suit doesn't even fit
how can you trust the words of any man who's suit doesn't fit
Is he wearing a battle-royale explosion collar?

As he said everybody deserves to have an opinion. I am fine with it until he starts trying to make these ideas come true.
I don't see how I should hate someone for ideas. I can hate or like someone for actions, and when it comes to that actor I don't really know any actions to hate him for.
Saying it is very dickish of him, yes. But there are people out there who kill and humilate gays (See 'Tesak'). He just does his business, makes movies and stuff. Only once he said something ridicolous.
So what? Like it or not, half of russian population thinks the same way. I got used to it and don't find these ideas dangerous, as they are slowly dieing anyway.
[editline]17th December 2013[/editline]
Maybe I just got used to people saying shit like that and don't understand all the fuss around "someone said something".

The ever present "opinions can't be criticized!"
So what? Like it or not, half of russian population thinks the same way.
I'm sorry, are you seriously trying to use this to justify him saying this shit?
"It's alright he thinks about killing gays, everyone else does it!"

What's exactly wrong with not criticizing opinions?
What's exactly wrong with not criticizing opinions?
There's a difference between an opinion and hate.
An opinion is "I don't like pickles very much and I think people who do are a bit nuffy", not "every gay person should be roasted alive before they infect our kids with the homo". That's just dumb, intollerent ignorance.
What's exactly wrong with not criticizing opinions?
Inaction is conspiracy.
What's exactly wrong with not criticizing opinions?
Why exactly should people tolerate hatred and bigotry because it's someone's opinion? Opinions aren't some infallible thought that can't be wrong because someone thinks differently to another person.
They very well can be wrong, and if they include hatred against people for something they can't help, then people have a right to criticize it.
I got used to it and don't find these ideas dangerous, as they are slowly dieing anyway.
They're certainly not. It'll be a good long while until our people will understand that everyone should be equal. I still can't convince my family that "the gay" isn't a disease and homosexuals don't "convert" everybody around them. This bullshit belief is quite persistent and the church is enforcing it

Opinions can't be right either. They are only right or wrong from your point of view.
So, should I take action against everyone with a different opinion?
I honestly don't see how I can reveal the light to that russian actor by calling him names on the internet. It's his opinion. Criticize it all you want, it changes nothing.
As long as he is not taking any action or trying to make others take action towards killing gays it does not matter. At all.
By "half of russian population thinks that way" I mean that everyone says stuff like that and nobody cares, but suddenly a celebrity says it and it's somehow a tragedy. That's not for justifying what he said. I am just saying that he can say all he wants and it changes nothing, why care?
stupid
you lose the right to voice your opinion when you start advocating the death of minorities tbh.
This isn't "just an opinion"
It's a dangerous mindset that has time and time again been shown to cause gratuitous levels of death.
