them hooligans on heroin
Someone using my local paper as a news source
Marijuana is way less harmful then alcohol. Alcohol ruins lives. Marijuana doesn't.
I actually think their justifications are that you could injure other people as a result of using drugs.
Which is stupid as shit. Way more people get hurt from drunks than from high people. It really shows that they have not much idea about substances.
Good, I'm glad their clamping down on this.
What if jonny teenager somehow manages to legally get his hands on some weed, and gets his friend into the addiction by handing it over? Good thing it is punishable, people shouldn't ever feel under pressure to purchase or consume the product IMO.
lmao
addiction to weed

It's funny because it's near impossible to get addicted to weed, and if you do there's absolutely no way you can die from it (weed isn't toxic enough to kill you).

I think I fixed it for ya.

The URL alone is a giveaway that it's a horribly biased site.
Weed addiction? Haha good one. There might be mental addiction, but you can get mentally addicted to anything.
Hahaha, what. I'm not a big enthusiast of the whole drug thing, but this is retarded.
I guess passing a ho makes you a pimp?

America is so fucked over with drug enforcement and education. In my Highschool health class the teacher tried to tell students that cannabis use causes gynecomastia.
How the fuck does this make ANY sense?
http://www.marijuana-addiction.net/
Jesus, reading some of this made me fall out of my seat laughing
Marijuana side effects include physical problems like breathing difficulties and deteriorating physical abilities. Despite a popular belief, marijuana side effects speed up the heart, blood and breathing rate. The body is taxed more and this speeds up the aging process just like methamphetamines do.
Interesting, my health teacher from middle school gave us straight up factual answers when we asked about drugs, how pot really isn't a horrible drug at all and how heroin/crack/meth etc. are the very dangerous ones. Then when she got into the ways how drugs affect the mind, pot was one of the lesser harmful ones.
Then again I'm in California and there's 3 dispensaries across the street from my house so things may be different here than they are in Kansas.
Weed addiction is a process addiction. It's not a substance addiction like nicotine.

One of the "Kids Science" magazines they force us to read in school said basically this:
Marijuana is like alcohol but it makes you feel good so don't do it
Dude what.
It makes sense, actually. You're mixing "my friend is a drug trafficker" with "my friend is a drug trafficker, which is bad and he should be imprisoned".
oh fuck I once was around two people who were smoking and passed the joint without smoking it
I'm automatically a drug trafficker/dealer
what do I do!?!?!

Weed isn't toxic
period
Drugs are bad, m'kay, unless prescribed by your doctor, or if it's caffeine, nicotine, or alcohol.
No, caffeine, nicotine and alcohol are bad too.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetrahydrocannabinol#Toxicity
"There has never been a documented human fatality from overdosing on tetrahydrocannabinol or cannabis in its natural form."
Well, he's right, weed isn't toxic. At least not toxic enough to kill you.

Even if it is toxic, the toxicity is literally so minor that it doesn't even show at all in fair amounts.
[editline]23rd October 2011[/editline]
At least, we haven't seen that yet.
At least not toxic enough to kill you.

There's increasing evidence that cannabis use is linked to a number of health risks. It damages the ability to concentrate, decreases motivation and more than occasional use in teenagers can affect psychological development. Users can become anxious, suspicious and even paranoid. Heavy use increases the risk of serious psychiatric illness.
Okay, so they haven't found conclusive evidence so it appears, but just how much it looks like it could fuck up school life isn't worth it.
People should not be allowed to share substances that have the potential to cause this much harm in such a short timescale.
http://www.marijuana-addiction.net/
You can get addicted to it like you can any other thing, like playing games, eating chocolate, etc. Not the kind of addiction where you NEED it like other drugs.
Honestly, most people I've seen against marijuana are just so misinformed it's not even funny.

Well if people allow themselves to be shared these "dangerous substances" I'm sure they are aware what they are doing.
Most of those effects would hardly have much of a true impact on anything. It does mess with your memory a bit but not to the point of putting you into risk of failing school. Hell, I could argue that when you are high, you are actually SMARTER. I'm not saying this is true but it's been said by some and I've noticed myself a little bit of this.

If your friend is responsible, smart, and knows the risks, then he'll it's his decision. It wouldn't be your fault if you passed your friend the joint and suddenly he's doing heroin.
It's also questionable to if it affects teenagers development. It's certain that if it was legalized, it would only be for those greater than 18

That's a fancy-ass word for a highschool teacher to use.

Addiction is a change in chemical make up of the brain making someone physically have side-effects of not using it so... no... you can't.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Addiction
It's impossible to be addicted to those things.
HOOWWWEEEVER, like those things, you can form something like an extreme habit. Extreme habit of eating chocolate, smoking weeding, 'tossing it off', etc.

It's the word I used for his saying it can cause breast enlargement in men. Which is absolutely absurd.
