Soviet Afghan War Vietnam Chechnya Any of the Arab-Israeli wars Iran-Iraq War

what if a korean war one followed the turkish brigade? they pretty much fought constantly and did heaps of hardcore shit. medal of honour: vietnam could be cool too. it pains me that vietcong is the only decent (singleplayer) vietnam war fps to have ever been made.
I personally would love to see a Talvisota game, fighting the soviet hordes sounds awesome to me, but it will never be done by a big publisher. Won't happen because the majority of people who play FPS games don't have a very large knowledge base of wars that the US weren't involved in.
Soviet Afghan War Vietnam Chechnya Any of the Arab-Israeli wars Iran-Iraq War
You're appealing to the western world here, predominately the U.S. You think they care about anything in Chechnya, or want to play as the Soviet Union or Afghanistan, or Iran and Iraq? Maybe for Israel. The only one they'd really have any interest in though would be Vietnam.

Fuck those assholes, I want to play as Russian, afghan freedom fighter, Chinese spec ops member in Korean war, as vietnamese, and so forth. I'm so fucking tired of games with murrica being the protagonist, and so is everyone else. Which is why everyone are getting the "Glorious Mission" game. [editline]25th February 2012[/editline] What? It's true damnit. The WW2 and "Modern" setting has been milked dry from the western point of view

Stop, its really annoying and you just come off as a broken record. You have no idea how making a game that appeals to consumers works, and you're just using this as a less than subtle way of bashing America.
You act like this every time anyone even mentions America, particularly on an international scale.
And I hate people who blow things out of proportions and how seemingly the only opinion these days are those that favour the Americans. Like the Iran-American dickwaving contest right now and the threads about it.
You have no idea how making a game that appeals to consumers works
No, I don't think you have the slightest clue about game that "appears to consumers." That is only the small part of making a game and succesfully selling it on a global scale.
and you're just using this as a less than subtle way of bashing America.
So honestly not caring about USA in this subject is immediately considered bashing. No, seriously, I don't care. But sadly few ever become well-known. And that WW2 thing? It's been 70 years, and soccer mom's are more concerned about their family members currently fighting over the ocean. They wouldn't care.
Winter War
The finnish Snowflake studios is actually making a game about Finland's two recent wars, but they have been rather silent about it for a long while now. Pc? Only? What.

And that WW2 thing? It's been 70 years, and soccer mom's are more concerned about their family members currently fighting over the ocean. They wouldn't care.
At least Half the market you're trying to appeal to is the US. You don't make a game where the protagonists are Nazi's and kill Americans. As much as some of you would like to see that, a game like that would be too controversial and wouldn't sell in the US. The war was a long time ago yes, but it had such a massive effect on the world, and so many people lost their lives in it. Soccer moms would go crazy over it, you would be surprised at the stupidity they get mad at.

What you do isn't criticism, its mindless and blatant bashing. Europe is a large market, yes, but they are in a fairly similar boat in regards to these things, and the U.S. alone is still just as massive as the European market. And the idea that Eastern European developers may make better games or not is irrelevant because that has nothing to do with the consumers. And are you really saying that appealing to the consumers is a small part of actually selling the game? If so, that might be the most uninformed thing you've said thus far. And nobody gives a fuck about whether or not you have an opinion that favors the U.S. or not, seriously. The problem is when you go out of the way to start attacking them needlessly. You are talking about what has the most meaning and value to your consumers. You have to create games that actually gathers their interest and is substantial in someway to them. It's the same thing for other markets. Does anyone think South Koreans would give a shit about a game based in Brazil? Or that Russian gamers really want to play a game involving Central Africa? A Russian market might have interest in a game based in Chechnya or the Afghanistan invasion, but the U.S. won't care because it doesn't mean anything to them, just in the same way that Russia wouldn't give a shit about a game set during the American Revolution or American Civil War.
I really hope it stays PC only.
Korean war wasn't that eventful, after China got involved it just went back and forth over a stretch of few miles till a cease fire was signed. WWII is also really over done, but so is the modern warfare setting at this point, but what else are you going to make FPSes about?
To be honest "real" modern warfare hasn't been overdone. I think MoH is the only game that claims to be modern that has been set during a current real conflict.
Its not going to a be a PC only title, EA (and any company for that matter) will want the highest potential profit margins which consoles are going to drive, and more people get to play it. Frostbite 2 looks quite nice on PCs so it should be the same case here. I somewhat enjoyed MOH but found it incredibly linear.
As long as it got a good storyline and long like... 20-30 hours, I'll be happy with it.
What's the last 20 hour FPS you played? Fallout 3 and New Vegas don't count. The simple solution to making FPS single players "innovative" and super fun are making them Open World, a game where you play as a Tier 1 operator in an open world Afghanistan, traveling to meet informants, infiltrating Taliban bases, taking part in large scale operations, assassinating militants, and purchasing guns from the open gun market would be cool as hell. Instead we'll get another linear "go from point a to point b and fly a helicopter once or twice, look! explosions but you can only look around" game.
What's the last 20 hour FPS you played? Fallout 3 and New Vegas don't count.
Any STALKER game?

There's so much untapped potential in history/fictional history, if only people could stop being butthurt over it all. I'd definitely want to have as many viewpoints represented as possible.

They won against the Soviet Union because Finland had support from the Germans, and the Soviets were too distracted with the German invasion to care about the flat piece of land called Finland.
I'm still waiting for a game where I can play as a west-european soldier while being at war with the US.

FPS needs more laser-beams.
Another modern warfare FPS fighter that's probably located in the middle east? ' Where did it go wrong?
eww EA, no thanks. And why does the title say PC only?
It's not a PC exclusive.
Damn, I was very excited to see PC exclusive, the frostbite engine as a console exclusive would be EPIC!
I wonder if the game is actually designed for PC.
And through the swarms of shit, one game still stands true. ArmA3
Winter War
HOW ABOUT THE FUCKING GERMAN SIDE FOR ONCE?!
HOW ABOUT THE FUCKING GERMAN SIDE FOR ONCE?!
How about nazi shower simulator? aka holocaust tycoon
Medal of Honor was a great game, the multiplayer functionality was almost perfect in my mind. It was awesome when I saw the teaser in BF3
