I can't use 3D because I have glasses
Put 3d glasses over your glasses.
Yes, and no. You misunderstand. 3D sucks because no one will have the ability to make truly great films utilizing it to it's full potential because they have to relearn and re-adapt, that's why all the 3D movies now are going to suck. It's just going to be years of shitty films because no one will try to adapt, then years more of shitty films because when they finally figure it out, they'll suck at it. Years later, we might start getting your average, and decent film made in 3D actually doing it right. That's what I mean.
Really? If you can't adapt to new technology, maybe you shouldn't make movies then?

Didn't you read the whole part about it being as expensive as fuck to make a 3D movie? No, of course not. You just think it's cheap and easy. The whole industry as of now hasn't adapted to 3D, and you make this personal? Man, you're a fucking idiot.

2010.. Why has it taken us so long to get 3d televisions?
Who cares
the fact that he's been in the film industry all his life would make his opinion more important, at least more than your's.
Put 3d glasses over your glasses.
No, then they'd be too far away from my face and I would be able to see around them which isn't very effective.

When they get holographic style 3D that doesn't require anything special, I will be impressed.
When they get holographic style 3D that doesn't require anything special, I will be impressed.
If it will be like in movies when stuff is half transparent, it will be a pain to watch anyway.
It's not real 3D if you view it on a 2D plane (which is exactly what an LCD is). It's merely "Simulated 3D".
Well guess what? The pictures our eyes receive are 2D as well. So i guess reality is "Simulated 3D" as well? The only way this will differ from real 3D is that if you move around objects on the TV wont move around based on their distance. But that's irrelevant since you're not moving around when you're watching a movie anyways.
I've seen, and heard of demo's and full gaming rigs playing Metro 2033 in full 3D and that that game is amazing in 3D. I think games, if they go the way of this 3D bullshit will be a polarizing experience, either extremely good and enjoyable, or totally trashy and ruining every experience it gets its hands on.
lolpun
I don't see 3D TV catching on. It started in cinemas in the 50s and soon died. Reappeared in the 80s, died down. And now it's back again. I can see it dying again
Problem with 3D is that the screen has to be larger than the vision of your eyes, to cover out, and so that items coming out of the screen doesn't suddenly stop due to a black border where the screen ends. This won't woth with TV's unless you sit a meter away from a 50" and so I doubt 3D is good enough yet to give me the same 3D experience that movie theaters do.
