I was ballshocked by how realistic this was. Watch the whole thing: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=4C02EF7760313689
Last night I had a dream, and it was about a silver UFO shaped disc. I saw one spinning around really fast and it was close enough to the ground to cause commotion by lots of other people.
I got pissed off when I woke up after realizing it didn't really happen. :downsgun:
This government hasn't been very 'open' since Obama took office, has it?

It certainly wasn't under Bush though. Scapegoating aside, the guy created secret prisons across the world where even US citizens could "disappear". Sounds like like something Stalin would do. Of course we needed it for "defense against freedom and democracy, right?". Point is the idiot was manipulated by Cheney into gooning the American public for economic security and profit. Oh wait, but this was America! It's not like we've been taken advantage of by fear before... right?

er... right?
The only other planet that Scientists currently believe could sustain life is Gliese 581 d, which is 20 light years away. Meh, I don't think we'll be landing on THAT very soon.
Theses quotes are irrelevants. They used to say the same kind of things in the past. Physics can explain mosts things , but not everything.
It's arrogance if you say the opposite.
the opposite.
Man, the government is amazingly clever sometimes.
Alien bullshit keeps idiots from looking at what the government does, instead they look at the skies saying "OMG LIGHTS"
Because any credible astrophysicist would tell you how interstellar travel is practically impossible, and unless some bloody fundamental things that we've already got hammered down well change dramatically, then interstellar travel simply won't exist. Ever.
But look at the age of the universe 13.7 billion years.
That leaves a heck of a lot of time for a species to develop, master warp travel :B, and complete an understanding of how to tinker with the fabric of space, and so on...
But human minds are finite in development. We will never understand everything.
Materials and metals have finite constraints.
There is a finite amount of available energy.
I don't want to sound like the prophet of doom, but it's not likely.

Our planet is about 5 Billion years old, they could have had 8 billion more years than us... Something tells me they figured it out. Its sad to think we may be alone.

Actually they wouldn't have had that much time. It took hundreds of million of years for the first stars to form, and then after that it would have taken many generations of stars to produce and distribute enough heavier elements to form any reasonable amount of planets. However, yes, life could have possibly developed elsewhere a few billions years prior to life on Earth... probably not 8 billion years prior, though.

Did the French surrender to the aliens yet?

Earth has been able to support life for 1 billion years. That's 1,000,000,000 years. We have gone from planes made of cloth and combustion engines to rockets going into space, in 100 years. Earth has been around as an inhospitable planet for something like 3.9 billion years. It's quite possible that aliens have something like a billion years on us.

Actually basic life is thought to have existed for about 4 billion years (3.8 if memory serves me correctly). Complex cells popped up around about 2 billion years ago, and multicellular life (which I assume is what you probably meant by 'life') has existed for about 1 billion.
Earth is only 4.5 billion years old itself, so a planet that formed 6 or 7 billion years ago could well have another billion years on us.
Damn is scientology right.
Nah i'm just kidding

I watched the whole thing. I shat several bricks, then wondered why I didn't remember any of it. Then I saw the end...
Nobody but the people saying "LOLSPIRACY!!!" have said that their talking about generic movie aliens. The definition of an alien is an outsider, for all we know, there's just a more advanced version of us there that the government didn't want us to know about. Hell, maybe the 'aliens' are animals, or just very simple organisms that live on space rocks. Nobody ever actually said that they had to walk on two legs and be super smart but the people who deny it.
Xen.
Why does this remind me of Transformers 2.

I just love posting just to get dumb ratings.
Why is that booster
The resources needed and the time it would take.
I like the idea of aliens, there's just too much theories which make it hard for me, wether to believe one or not... I'll stay to not, even though I didn't read the fucking article... Hell yeah I'm too lazy! Deal with it.
Aliens exist. I know they do. I'm going to be friends wit them.
I'll show you.
The day the government tells us there are aliens is the day my junk grows 12 inches longer.
Hey guys, I'm dating an alien. She's tan with black hair.
Oh wait, you nuts were referring to the other aliens. What the hell is wrong with you.
Humans are still pretty violent and dumb and the vast majority have no real serious interest in space travel. The only way humans would ever focus and really spend the time on space travel is when the planet is 100% doomed and leaving is the only option which will eventually happen but not for a super long time or something horrible happens. Right now all the advances we have made are pretty laughable, progress is very slow and the technology outdated.
Why would aliens want to contact us? How would that benefit them? What can we offer right now other than a pain in the ass? Unless they are just spending that much energy to come say hello.
I would love to be proven wrong though within my life time that would be sweet.
I think its a little strange that ours is the only planet with any form of lifeform.
The TV signals are pissing off the aliens, they will now fight back immediately by disclosing all information that they exist!

So are the Nazi's
It's easy to travel interstellar distances, without breaking the light barrier. Who knows what kind of metabolisms those aliens may have? A 100,000 year journey could just be short nap to them. Or hibernation?

Or ever heard of a wormhole? No?
there are billions x billions of stars out there, believing there are not any aliens out there is dumb
You must be joking. The sun alone doesn't generate enough energy for a interstellar power source, and we can't start violating laws of thermodynamics now can we?
Plus, another major stumbling block is the fact that the human body simply can not survive interstellar travel.
The velocities, the radiation, the lack of gravity, the distances...
We'll be sending metal coffins flying everywhere.
stop arguing your making this thread boring with your "facts" and "logic".

not if they use thar ultra-mega-huge-laser-blaster engine :D

ever heard of artificiall gravity or velocity dampers?
