I've thought about doing a clean install of 10, but I'm not sure. There's a lot of flak from both sides being tossed around, and I wouldn't be using enterprise so my options are limited, probably. I know a lot of people would think I'm stupid for considering installing 7 instead, but this all seems like a big hassle. I'm concerned about the privacy issues, compatibility, and the automatic updates. Automatic updates are awful for me.
In the year I've had it, i've never had an automatic update.
Clock speed doesn't matter all that much, it's a relative term. However, benchmarks are important. If the benchmarks don't take energy usage (such as watt per FPS or watt per dollar) into account at all, then they're not much use.
Really depends on your use case for that claim. A core M has excellent performance per watt but I'd still take an FX chip over it for heavy gaming. Or just performance/dollar for my desktop over anything to do with energy consumption.

They shouldn't represent one single use case, or even ten different ones, but as many as possible.
