If you're honestly insecure about your wife making more than you, you've got issues.
i would be pretty happy being a stay at home husband
WSJ is a News Corp rag so of course they haven't yet realized it's past 1950 [editline]14th February 2014[/editline]
It's going to be a little hard for men to be wives and mothers :v:
don't you tell me what I can and can't be I'd be a stellar wife
This isn't the 50s anymore. Women aren't going to give up on their careers just to be whipped housewives.
1) Nobody is saying a woman should give up her career. The woman is just saying you shouldn't put it off until it's too late. 2) I don't know where you live that there are "whipped" housewives, but over here the women are the ones who really rule the relationship.
though when it is your wife you should probably care less considering that they are your's, in a sense.

they are your's
wow
2) I don't know where you live that there are "whipped" housewives, but over here the women are the ones who really rule the relationship.

This isn't the 50s anymore

You're a feminist obviously you would think this. EDIT: And a bad poster.
take a look at the mirror bub also im getting the vibe that you agree with the article
I don't really disagree with her- from my limited limited experience, I see older men having an easier time getting married or entering new relationships than older women. maybe I'm wrong, but I still think women are at a disadvantage when it comes to things like this and I believe that she just sincerely wants to prevent a large life regret for girls (who want to marry?) e: just to clarify, this is assuming that her audience are girls who value marriage over career long term

I've always had the opposite idea, as divorced women always seem to get remarried much easier than divorced men. Only using this as an example as I mean divorced older males/females, but I guess factoring in divorce aren't exactly the same conditions as we're comparing.
There are gender roles for both genders why do you so fervently defend only women's gender roles?
haha he's got you here max. feminist is just a code word for anti-men
It's not as much a personal issue as it is one symptomatic of society-induced gender roles
its a result of having an fat overly inflated ego
hey you know the funny thing is that a lot of people probably think like this stay the fuck away from that shit
You post this yet ban this actually funny post for shitposting just because your a feminist. You literally don't know how to moderate without letting your opinions hit the ban button.
if you think that's funny i don't think you should be criticizing anyone on their opinions, moderating, posting or in fact anything
Uh I don't get what people are complaining about, pretty much everyone agrees that a good family life is more fulfilling than a career and lots of money. Are people objecting to finding a good relationship being intrinsically hard and balancing work and home-life being a difficult balance for everyone, or is it just reactionary because you didn't read and think it intends for women to go back to the 50s?
wow
I knew someone would be stupid like you lol. How are they not? A marriage is a mutual partnership where you pledge your being to each other, your incomes are combined too, you are EACH OTHER'S. lmfao, come on can't you think for a second?

I'd like to say this video lays everything out pretty nicely, or at least in my opinion.
she's saying that women specifically should focus on husband hunting rather than furthering their careers. [editline]15th February 2014[/editline] grow up grandpa this isn't the 50s you don't ever own your wife and they never own their husband
In my mind a couple that truly loves each other would essentially be a single entity, thus mutual possession. What a sexist piece of shit!!
she's saying that women specifically should focus on husband hunting rather than furthering their careers.
Do you not understand what balancing work and home-life means? You can't expect go work 60 hours a week and somehow find a good family too, something's gotta give and you're gonna be a lot happier with a family than money. No-one says women should give up on their careers and become housewives, but you can't expect everything. It's an old tale of the man who spends all his time working and neglects his family, now women have their own version.
****reply about it not being the 50s anymore****
So nobody anywhere in this country actually wants to be a stay at home mom? Are you implying that every single woman out there wants some uber-successful career and nobody wants to be the stereotypical loving caring stay at home mom? If so, that's a big blanket statement right there. A woman who is overly-obsessed with her career is the exact same as a man who is overly-obsessed with his career... unattractive.
This woman is right there is no way you can possibly do both at the same time or have power in choosing one or another wow ignorants Come to my shop for a 10% discount on Husbands with huge pecs
Do you sell gay husbands?
I'd like to say this video lays everything out pretty nicely, or at least in my opinion.
look at how oversized and sexualized that silhouette's lips are what a sexist piece of shit. always trying to make women sex objects
People being insecure about others doing better than them is totally normal, though when it is your wife you should probably care less considering that they are your's, in a sense. [editline]14th February 2014[/editline] He legit just banned someone in another thread for shitposting: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1364251&p=43913621&viewfull=1#post43913621 When his post here is even less productive, while also basically saying the same thing. Max, your bias is appalling.
what the fuck this thread is appalling [editline]15th February 2014[/editline]
I knew someone would be stupid like you lol. How are they not? A marriage is a mutual partnership where you pledge your being to each other, your incomes are combined too, you are EACH OTHER'S. lmfao, come on can't you think for a second?
nobody belongs to anyone, ever. two people agreeing to depend on each other is hardly 'owning' each other
pretty much everyone agrees that a good family life is more fulfilling than a career and lots of money.
uuuuuuh
Those men who are as well-educated as you are often interested in younger, less challenging women. Could you marry a man who isn't your intellectual or professional equal? Sure. But the likelihood is that it will be frustrating to be with someone who just can't keep up with you or your friends.
Do they not realize the error in this logic?
Do you not understand what balancing work and home-life means? [editline]15th February 2014[/editline]
In my mind a couple that truly loves each other would essentially be a single entity, thus mutual possession. What a sexist piece of shit!!
do you really think anything this woman is talking about can be considered 'true love' ?
would essentially be a single entity
Wait what?
except that is what this lady is saying. she's saying that women specifically should not focus on their careers and should instead be trying to land a husband.
No, she's saying you shouldn't put off getting a husband BECAUSE of your career. Nobody who wants a family should put their career before their family. Not men, not women, not hermaphrodites, not aliens, nobody. The reason she gears it specifically towards women is because of everyone telling them that families are old fashioned and that they should focus on a good career, when in reality, that advice may be hurting women who do want a family instead of helping them.
Wait what?
It's a love thing, I guess you guys wouldn't understand. I don't mean that they own each other or anything, but they are...very close, I don't know how to put it, I guess.
No, she's saying you shouldn't put off getting a husband BECAUSE of your career. Nobody who wants a family should put their career before their family.
