Yeah most places here aren't made for this weather. My university building is made for keeping heat in, and practically no shops around here have air conditioning and there's certainly no houses with it.
the new buildings in my school have massive double-glazed south-facing windows with no blinds :suicide:
Been sat bollock naked for about an hour after work each day this week. It's been fuckin' scorching.
Its still too fucking hot in scotland, rain isn't doing shit. us scots aren't used to this humid shit
Some like it hot. I, however, do not.
So we have great weather before summer when i'm at college, summer leave starts and the weather turns shit till i go back to college and it becomes hotter than it was the entire summer? why does the english weather hate me so much :(
This is why I love my mini-fridge. Instant cool.
it was pretty damn hot in September in canada too its wierd
That's like a normal day of October in Utah.
How many fucking times must this forum have this discussion. If a temperature is higher or lower than the average for the area it is in it is a big deal. The fact that its warmer or colder somewhere else in the world does not matter in the slightest. People in the UK are not used to 30'c at this time of the year. Peoples bodies more importantly don't want it or expect it.
I hear that we are getting snow this month aswell. Make your mind up weather.
The company that made that prediction (and for the last 2 years) has been right so far, they also predicted a very hot end to September. We are doomed.
Even though I like warm weather, I still complain becuase dammit its October it should be raining and cold. Sort it out clouds
Same here in Holland. Had the warmest October 1st since 1908.
Fuck this weather, I'm going to go live in my fridge. [editline]1st October 2011[/editline]
There are people that don't have air conditioning? Holy fuck that must be horrible. I thought the UK was a first world country, how can you guys have people that don't have air conditioning? Even people in China and Russia have it.
I don't know anyone with air conditioning in their house, there is no point since most of the time it isn't hot enough to need it. We still have it in shops, schools and offices sometimes though.
Us southern californians are as happy as spaghetti right now
Can't... breathe!! It is so god damn hot. I keep straightening my hair, but I am sweating so much and it's ruining my hair.
There are people that don't have air conditioning? Holy fuck that must be horrible. I thought the UK was a first world country, how can you guys have people that don't have air conditioning? Even people in China and Russia have it.
Air conditioning is not needed in a house unless the temperature outside is above like 40'c imo. Its a very expensive waste of money.
More like Americans'll come in saying it's a cool day in X state.
Yeah, that's about 15-25 degrees F less than the average heat in the summer here on the west coast.
I was at college on friday working in the workshop there, with all the machines it nearly hit 35c
You can't call it the hottest month after one day.

It's a lot more expensive than a fan http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4120199/Trail/searchtext%3EAIR+CONDITIONING.htm
Jealous of you brits right now, here in Ontario one day it's raining then the other it's hot then the day after that it's rainy and then hot after that day etc. MAKE UP YOUR MIND WEATHER
Jealous of you brits right now, here in Ontario one day it's raining then the other it's hot then the day after that it's rainy and then hot after that day etc. MAKE UP YOUR MIND WEATHER
You might be jealous of the temperature but I guarantee you a big chunk of us are suffering. We arent used to high temperatures, in winter -5 is an extreme for us, whereas on a hot summers day 25-26 at midday is a very very hot day. Most of the year it sits around a cool 10-20 degrees. Its forecast for heavy rain the entire day tomorrow here in Newcastle, its only 23 here and cloudy, but its 27 in my hometown about 20 miles North. Also when theres extremely heavy snow like last year, the whole country goes into a meltdown, because we are only prepared to deal with mild weather.
There are people that don't have air conditioning? Holy fuck that must be horrible. I thought the UK was a first world country, how can you guys have people that don't have air conditioning? Even people in China and Russia have it.
No point in paying loads on air conditioning when its mild/cold 90% of the year, and a lot of the time the hottest days in summer dont reach 30.
Well I dunno guys, we've had over 40 days of 100F temperature. Two days ago it was 107F.
You can't call it the hottest month after one day.
It's never been as hot as it is today in October, therefore it is the hottest October. We aren't looking at average's here, just highs. [editline]1st October 2011[/editline]
Very expensive? Maybe in the UK, but here and in a lot of other places it's definitely affordable.
The cost to actually run it, not to purchase it.

I thought the UK was a first world country, how can you guys have people that don't have air conditioning? Even people in China and Russia have it.
Dude, nobody fucking needs it here.
Very expensive? Maybe in the UK, but here and in a lot of other places it's definitely affordable.
Why would we have air conditioning when there would only be a few times a year at most when we'd actually need to use it? I don't know anyone who has air conditioning in their house.
The average yearly temperature for England is a maximum of 13.1c and a min of 5.6c, that's why we don't have air con
I don't know anyone who has air conditioning in their house.
I do, but they're morons who spend money on things they don't use.
I'm in Scotland, flat is roasting. Heating is off, windows open. Might just be seen as I'm not used to living here, but it might be related to the article.
Very expensive? Maybe in the UK, but here and in a lot of other places it's definitely affordable.
£300 for 3 days a year (plus running costs) isn't really worth it and it doesn't get hot enough for the noise not to be annoying. [editline]1st October 2011[/editline]
I'm in Scotland, flat is roasting. Heating is off, windows open. I live in Brighton. It is hot, but i wouldn't say it's unbeareble.
Bournemouth is hot enough to melt metal. Fell in a river today, dried off in ten minutes.
