Neither were traditional Halo multi and Reach's was the worse of the two.
But 4's campaign writing was embarrassingly cringy and played out like a bad fan-fic. I also thought reach had WAY better multiplayer. I don't like the criticism that people said 4 took too much from cod, but it didn't have that halo feel that reach nailed imo.
reach wasn't the worst game ever but it took the series towards halo 4 which was fucking horrendous
343n just had another heart attack.
At this rate, those medical bills will ensure 343n will never have money when MCC DOES make its way to PC. God, I wonder what happens when that day comes, suicide? Seriously though, once they release the xbox one version, they REALLY should consider putting it on PC. I just really wish they replaced halo 4 with reach. One could argue its a critical game in reference to the original trilogy's story as it shows how the war started.
Fuck off, you could have ported just Halo 3 and made thousands of people happy. No one was expecting you to port 4 games.
So right...Halo 3 port would've been epic. I don't care if it was the worst port in history--TAKE OUR PC dollars you dumbasses at Microsoft.
reach wasn't the worst game ever but it took the series towards halo 4 which was fucking horrendous
It didn't though. It was Bungie's final game and swan-song to their series, their work on it, and their interpretation of the lore/universe and canon. [editline]18th September 2014[/editline] Also I don't know, I think you guys are over-expecting things. We're a vocal, from what I seen, yet small group. How many people honestly want the halo games on PC, would that truly sell enough to justify it? More importantly, it hurts the growth of the Xbone and 360, and the benefits Microsoft reap from it. Not only must we question the risk and money put in, not only the short term gain, but then the long term as well.
Neither were traditional Halo multi and Reach's was the worse of the two.
This isn't even a argument. Reach has no perks, kill streaks, or custom loadouts. Reach also has descope and the ability to remove sprint.
I'm starting to give up on believing that they'll release any of the games on PC, they know they can soak up more cash from people buying the xbones and refuse to do anything that'll cost just even a little bit. They know they can get $400 and the price of any console exclusive games they release, and halo is the best bait they have as of right now for that, fuck my Dad even wants to buy a xbox just for the damn collection.
I definitely understand why they would avoid PC, I just wish they'd outright say it was Xbox exclusive so people would stop speculating
would make it hard to churn out two versions at once.
Did these chumps get into professional game development thinking it'd be an easy ride or something? What PR bullshit.
wtf, Halo 4 was actually pretty good. They just took it in a different direction which turned out to be nice in its own unique way. Still had a Halo feel and was a good game. Too bad all this hivemind bullshit makes everyone dislike it.
Halo 4 was like the call of duty of Halo It just doesn't fit as a Halo title
I don't like Reach. It was worse than Halo 4 but then again I kinda liked Halo 4, so that may have something to do with it. I just feel like with Reach the Artystyle of sleek and simple shit with damn good textures changed to something else, so it didn't look aesthetically pleasing to me, the gameplay was mediocre at best, I had way more fun playing Halo 3 than Reach. The thing I hated the most about Reach and 4 is that community went downhill fast. There were not very many map creators left and those that did put out very similar shit.
"That's one of the things I love about the PC community," said Ayoub. "You've got so many cool things going on [with fans]. And then you've got the breadth; PCs are everywhere all over the planet. Obviously as part of Microsoft PCs are part of our business. When you look at that market and community, there's almost limitless possibilities in terms of what we can do."
Blegh. This feels copy pasted, I've heard enough of this garbage. Big words, but all talk. This is saying nothing of value. Eventually everyone will (and already should have) realized that this is just PR "we love the fans!!!" trash. Put your money where your mouth is sometime and stop teasing us like animals, if you hold off for so long people are just going to stop giving a shit.
My guess is they'll try and make it either Windows 8/8.1/9 exclusive.
Remember how they did that with Halo 2 and it was a single line in the installer? I doubt it.
Remember how they did that with Halo 2 and it was a single line in the installer? I doubt it.
That's not what kept people from playing it without Vista or newer. It was released exclusively for DirectX 10 which wasn't available for XP. That's the worst case scenario, that they update DirectX or something similar and make the potential to hack support for older systems nearly non-existent.

How could Reach, with it's Mark V armor, Spartan IIIs, and gritty setting POSSIBLY be misconstrued for being more sterile and sleek than the simulations, lightweight Mark VI armor, and Spartan IVs?

You could run Halo 2 on XP with DX9 just fine. Hell I did it before I had windows 7 myself.
They're owned by Microsoft. No shit they're trying to sell Xboxes.
Wait, are some people STILL not aware that the Halo franchise is ultimately owned by Microsoft? I was 12 when I learned that fact. I'm 22.

Too bad all this hivemind bullshit makes everyone dislike it.
Haha no. The story was terrible, the enemies were irritating chrome bullet-sponges the art direction changed massively, and not for the better. in fact, i think the changes they made to the look of the game was the worst part of halo 4. the forerunner's sharp, angular, Understated but distinctly alien architecture was replaced with SPASTIC TRON RAVE CORRIDORS- the Elites went from being sleek and shark-like alien space knights to lumpy drooling sleeveless gears of war baddie rejects- (lets not forget the fact that the last two games had them slowly become allies of humanity, only for them to suddenly become evil again with the only explanation as to why being "alot can happen in 4 years lol") And arguably worst of all, they took the now distinctive Spartan power armour aesthetic- And replaced it with generic anime mechsuit space marine suits with ambiguous features and tacti-cool names. the reason you have loads of People disliking halo 4 isnt because of some bandwagon, its because halo 4 genuinely sucked serious ass.
Windows 9 Exclusive "Why do people keep emailing us about this is like Vista all over again?" - Microsoft

Blur your vision and these literally all look the same
Why don't i believe that?
Guaranteed sales > potential sales.
Guaranteed sales > potential sales.
Why not make Guaranteed sales + potential sales?
Why not make Guaranteed sales + potential sales?
Because engineering time, marketing focus, and support for the product ain't free. While Xbone is very similar to Windows(even runs a WindowsCE instance), the HW, specs, and OS are all the exact same and if it runs on one, it most likely will run on all the rest. With PC developing things to run on Vista-Win8.1 requires additional costs, marketing, and support for than for what a console is. Businesses are there to make money and investors will be more likely to push money into a franchise that has been proven time and time again to be successful on a particular piece of hardware than to push out to a group only 2 games of the series have been on. Not only that but most of the time when you hear the word Halo, most people think Xbox, not PC. Microsoft makes more off the HW SW and online services sales of an Xbox than they do for a PC OEM windows license + the game.

I wouldn't mind having to wait ages for the game to be released as yeah, selling it on PC at release wouldn't be in Microsfot's interests. It's just a bit ridiculous that they have 1 & 2 on PC but still no sign of 3. [editline]19th September 2014[/editline]
the reason you have loads of People disliking halo 4 isnt because of some bandwagon, its because halo 4 genuinely sucked serious ass.
I've not played Halo 4 but from what I've seen, the game certainly didn't suck. It looked fun as hell to play. However, I do believe it did a serious injustice to Bungie's work. The story started and finished as quick as a twelvie's relationship - in lore terms - and they totally butchered the design of everything Bungie had built up over the years. Spartans don't look like Spartans and the Promethean architecture totally changed.
I don't give a shit anymore. I'll just buy that mouse-to-joystick-on-console thing and play it that way. I now own both 3 and Reach on XBL just from having Gold membership, so I don't see a reason for me specifically to care about it anymore once I beat those two.
imo halo 4 was a good game, it just wasnt a halo-level of good game
am i the only one who doesn't care about halo? i even have halo reach and i never even played it. :v:
