And the majority of people in the world think the only alternative to Windows is Mac, because they think Windows is the computer.
Not knowing another way exists /= liking what is currently there.
I think i'll alternate between Linux and Windows 7, seeing as SteamOS is coming.
Didn't Google themselves say something about it not actually being private?
Email simply isn't private unless you encrypt it, Microsoft scans your email as well (Along with the contents of your SkyDrive, etc.)
kinda funny how your av is of one of the brohoster art assets
What, Bubbleman? That's something I requested from a Drawfag thread on 4chan.
Hey Microsoft, if you think that is an invasion of privacy, try going to Google maps and search your address
actually lots of people like what microsoft puts out!
dont forget the OS you're using!
And a lot of people hate Microsoft (including its massively bloated operating systems), but are stuck with them for lack of a better option for the time being. Linux and Apple and all that are nice, but Microsoft's where the biggest support from game developers goes to. Likewise, I pay Charter for internet service every month, but I'd go burn down their home office if there were another provider in the area that could meet my needs without being offensively unethical.
I like a lot of MS products but I hate ads like this - while some of the points are kinda true (google does fuck around with you sometimes by changing features without warning, and they are pretty invasive about privacy) bashing your competitors is the worst way to try to advertise yourself. I was always glad that back in the day despite apple's dickery MS didn't really retaliate, but then they go and do this? What

The good thing about Google's ads is that they are somewhat relevant to what you search for.
But if you are sharing your important/private stuff over a Google service you could just as well just do it in public.

I don't know what your talking about
Meanwhile I'm still sitting here using an earthlink account for my email.
Wait wait wait, they're bashing Google for invasive ads?
Admittedly they're annoying, but if you use any browser that isn't Microsoft's, you can just adblock them. Can't do that on an XBox.
Or you could just edit your hosts file and never have ads anywhere on your computer, regardless of browsers or plugins

Works on my smartphone.
Also did that on router-level back when I had a WRT54G that worked.
Google's follow-up campaign should be a similar ad where it's negatively spun on Google, but at the end the guy goes
'well, you think that's bad, you should see bing!'
it's funny as shit because of how insanely hypocritical microsoft is.
MS is really no better, if anything it's probably worse.
Every time I use Bing i'm literally angered by the results
So you're gonna enjoy a free email service and block the ads that let google get any return from it, nice.
If I remember right the ad campaigns were talking about google's bots skimming through your email for keywords and showing relevant ads.
Um, I use cox.net :v:

Takes time and I'd probably fuck it up.
I read my mail on my phone. Puts all my inboxes together a lot easier and it buzzes when I get a message. No online ads, no account linking or recovery hassle.

Every time I log into my university's wifi the bing page pops up.
But its faster to tether my phone to my laptop than use the wifi.

My workplace blocks Bing, Yahoo, etc. But not Google.
Then again, their filter's are set to Communist China levels and block every domain NOT on the whitelist. Including normally whitelisted domains minus the www sub-domain.
