Still, it doesn't seem like nintendo to just add a 2. Usually they come up with something different as opposed to just using the same name. Except for maybe the SNES.
Nintendo DS? Nintendo DS Lite? Nintendo DSi? Nintendo 3DS? They're slightly varied. This isn't a whole new console (Nintendo 64 to Gamecube), this is just a second generation of it. I don't expect to see a new console for a long time.
It kind of sucks, but I think we'll be seeing Xbox 720, Playstation 4 & Wii 2 for a looong time.
PC gaming>Console gaming
Why do you have to urge to go into a console gaming thread just to say that?

They never really did come up with anything creative for their handhelds but i guess you're right.
I don't know what to think. I love the zelda and mario but I dont want to be disappointed when they are there only games.

I read somewhere that the Cafe will have a lot more 3rd party support.
Buying it because I didn't buy the Wii. Besides, it's a newer console than anything Sony or Microsoft has by years.
Wii2
more games
more fun
more time getting dusty on my shelf after i played it for 20 mins and realized all the games that arnt sports games fucking blow on it
Won't buy cause I already have the wii.
Triple Core, eh. Isn't that what the Xbox 360 currently has? Not trying to be a prick or anything, but this doesn't sound too much more powerful that what is already on the market. I mean it doesn't sound like it's going to be powerful, because if it was they would have said so to help build hype for it.
You shouldnt post if you dont know what your talking about.
"Cores" arent everything in a processor, jeez...
Super Mario Galaxy 3?
what an imaginative name
not that I care

from the sound of it you don't know what you;re talking about either
the rumors said it would be slightly more powerful than the 360 and the ps3 and considering how weak as shit they are I could believe it
I feel like Playstation 1-3 flows better than Wii 1-3
That's because you're used to hearing playstation 2/3 for ten fucking years
So, even though it's the same concept, it just sounds silly
Like pretty much all the console games
BEFORE YOU START HATING on me saying that PC gaming is better than consoles, let me say that it isn't. At all. They're totally similar, both have certain advantages, and IMO they've both just gotten really boring to me. I'll probably buy a new Xbox or Playstation even though it'll have the same problem as this new Wii, which is that it will be the same god damned thing again or something that has already been done. Nothing's new anymore. I probably won't get this new Wii, seeing as how everyone I fucking know, along with myself, bought it within the first year, played Super Smash Bros. and never fuckng touched it since. I haven't played it in two years, no joke.
Except nowhere is it called the Wii 2 in any Nintendo press release, and never in history have Nintendo suffixed a number onto their console name. On another note, should be saucesome. In some ways I hope its not as popular as the Wii, and able to run the games the next Xbox and PS4 will be able to, so that some exclusives don't pass it by, and so we'll get a much higher quality of game on average for the system.
PS It's not a new Wii. It's a new Nintendo home console, geddit right.

Xbox 360 came out in 2005. It wouldn't be hard for them to make a console more powerful than early 2000s technology.
That being said, Nintendo should name the console "Super Wii." Hell, I wouldn't mind if they reused Nintendo Entertainment System or Super Nintendo Entertainment System. I just find something facepalm about calling the new console "Wii 2."
The last thing that i ever bought from Nintendo was the Gameboy Color. This one isnt going to break that streak.
Don't call it the Wii 2 call it Project: Cafe
Im okay with this!
I want to see what they do with it before I consider getting it :v:
Terrible reading up in this bitch
I don't want to, but I can't resist, I'm probably gonna buy this one too
[editline]26th April 2011[/editline]
well I'm gonna be able to resist until they confirm the next Super Smash Bros
We need good first party games this time around. I hope they consider porting Skyward Sword over to the Cafe so that I don't have to deal with the shitty motion controls in the Wii version. (IMO shitty, anyway. Zelda never really did click as a "motion heavy" game for me).
Pikmin 3 would be awesome, too.
If they actually have fun games to play other then shitty mario games and fitness bullshit, fixed up the crappy controls and other problems then maybe i'll give it a 4 out of 10 rating.
I really don't see why everyone bashes the Wii.
When I'm just hanging out with a bunch of mates having beers and stuff someone will yell "who's keen for smash bros.". Simple game everyone can play whether drunk or high.
Nintendo is fun when you are actually with people. Sure we aren't all hardcore online gamers but I think they appeal to the general public pretty well.
What will be funny is if the new Console is the most badass shit we ever seen.
*fingers crossed*
It should be called Nintendo Revolution.
Won't buy cause I already have the wii.
Doesn't even make sense. I have a PS3, but that sure as hell won't stop me from getting the next iteration. The Wii came out 5 years ago.
Wii-G
People are complain about Wii 2 being the name (even though it is not really the name)
NOBODY bitched about PS2 or PS3

I am pretty sure they said Brawl is the last one.

Obviously, just from the way that they've not done any dick waving or showing off, and given how the Wii is much weaker than the other two consoles, I was saying that it didn't sound like it was going to be very powerful.
Why is everyone moaning about the fact that the Cafe won't be a technological groundbreaker when it comes to graphics? Nintendo games have never been about graphics, more just about having fun.
