• Community creators earn big (think $40k+) with TF2 items

the only thing crafting wise and finding wise that interest's me in TF2 is weapon's i don't give a shit about hats tbh.
While I say Bravo to them, I can't help but to think this might hurt the Modding community a bit... Won't this give some sort of incentive to not release decent modded content (Custom weapon models and the like) but instead try and get them to be sold in a Man-Co store?
Not really, Valve looks for the best custom content and adds it to the game over time. What they should really do is open an official mod nexus and pick new items to include every 3 months or so. This would not only ensure a constant flow of new content, but also reassure the mod community that they are not forgotten.
tf2 was always shit
I can't imagine doing shit like that even if I could do it. It's probably because I just don't give a shit about trading. But I do love my hats.
This is just how Valve get employees. Watch, within 5 years the polycount winners will be employed in the gaming industry.
team fortress 2 is horrible now valve completely ruined it
tf2 was always shit
Spelt MW2 wrong.
I swapped my hats for some weapons because I didn't give a shit for a hat that had no effect on the gameplay.
I haven't played TF2 since the update, but I thought the Mannconomy update was Valve content the whole time. How much is made by Valve compared to modders? That would explain the extreme rise in items upon it's release.
I still remember the time when the only special thing you would ever get was random crits. :allears:
Well, that's a nice sum of money. How did they decide on the amount of royalty by the way? I barely have anything special in the game. Never got much hats I liked and I never managed to craft a single hat. Only thing that makes me laugh now is that after the Mannconomy update making all pre-update items prefixed with "Vintage", I have a classy vintage Jarate for the sniper.
I don't like their new direction, you shouldn't give the rich set bonus hats that cost around £4-6 just so they can kick my ass with their headshot immunity, sentry damage reduction etc.
Oh, you poor and Irish thing. You must have forgotten that fancy headwear of good wealth can be now manufactured by those less fortunate.
Hey guys! Left 4 dead came out with a new mutation! I'm soooo excited.
And who bought all these hats, 12 year olds. Its the new thing to make money off of, look at Microsoft.
I haven't played this game in six months, I don't think I will again for a very long time.
you guys are whiney bitches
Spelt MW2 wrong.
LOL yeah man MW2 is such shit!!! should be named call of shit ROFL
Wow haters gonna hate in this thread.
I didn't think that the TF2 community would actually start buying those items in the store. I knew a few might but this is ridiculous
It just means there are a lot of people willing to spend money on digital property.
Makes me wish I knew a damned thing about coding and modeling.
Dosh loads of money
I still remember the time when the only special thing you would ever get was random crits. :allears:
Things were simpler yet better
Blame the community. Not Valve. Valve Listens to the communitys responses, The community loves hats = More hat shit for tf2.
you probably don't have any hats HAH what a faggot
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/mfw_itemswtf.jpg[/img_thumb] I have nothing except this shit. But that's because I don't spend endless hours playing TF2, nor did I "cheat" when it was possible. :saddowns:
i'm so fucking ashamed of myself. i introduced tf2 to a few friends hoping to get them away from halo. 1 guy completely sucks dick at it, goes back to reach. wasting my fucking money. the other dude, buys all he can, and doesn't even play the game, half his backpack is (not tradable). the fourth dude doesn't even play it, and just gives me all his shit.

I've been playing since release, on and off of course. I have yet to keep a single hat.
I still play TF2 occasionally. It's still a great competitive game. But I do think it's on the brink of being 'over-featured'.
valves really done it this time
