Made me curious and I searched for threads like this. Here are reaction in gamefaqs on 9/11 http://www.gamefaqsarchive.com/index.php?pg=51 The gfaqs admins response http://www.gamefaqsarchive.com/index.php?pg=421 Here's one where a user eerily predicts that something bad was going to happen On July 7 2005 The day of the london bombings http://www.gamefaqsarchive.com/index.php?pg=1163 They only archived the first pages sadly
My reaction was the same as to any other disaster where the death toll is high. No more or less disturbing.
this is so weird to read now. it feels like it's happening again.
Yeah, I feel kinda bad because it didn't really effect me that much when I was a kid either. A natural disaster kind of fits with what it felt like to me.
You were too young to succumb to the media circus. The whole of Africa could just blow up and most would be like "Wow kinda terrible", but then continue without letting it bother them. (Disregarding repercussions other than emotional ones)
Damn, some of those comments are incredible inappropriate and dumb.
buttfrustrated
I was 9 at the time. I remember watching it on TV. It made me surprisingly angry, which is kind of weird since I live half a world away from the US. The next few months was spent retaliating against Al Qaeda by playing anti-Osama flash games. http://www.newgrounds.com/collection/waronterror
6 bomb 7 bomb 8 bomb, more! Cruise missile knockin' at your door http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/35339 True classic. But where is Bin Laden Liquors?
Fuckstick needed to shut the fuck up
Would you expect anything less from the internet in 2001?
The net is still exactly the same, even Facepunch is the same.
There is a call from the airplane that crashed into a field after the passengers hijacked it back.
I can only imagine how they must have felt after managing to land and hearing about the others.
The net is still exactly the same, even Facepunch is the same.
Except for the part where FP didn't exist in 2001
I can only imagine how they must have felt after managing to land and hearing about the others.
There weren't many of them left to think about it after the "landing."
I can only imagine how they must have felt after managing to land and hearing about the others.
Crushed.

Wow that Howard Stern radio show thing is terrible. I mean it just shows how crazily patriotic Americans can be, "It was those fuckin' towel heads man." Then Stern says "The Arab world is America's dog and it needs to be spanked." How can people be so quick to blame a whole country, or essentially the whole western world for a terrorist attack? It just frightens me that people think that way.
Better not listen to this then. (Honestly surprised this wasn't posted yet) (Also if you have never listened to this before and you aren't desensitized to this sort of stuff, this will probably give you nightmares) It's weird to go back and read everything in that thread. Freaky
As desensitized to stuff like this as I am, that actually made me feel a little weird It's the sound of the building coming down through the phone I think, really gives you an insight
Except for the part where FP didn't exist in 2001
Never said it was, people still act the same.
My sisters birthday is on Sept. 11 and we were skipping school when this happened. Our stepdad comes home pale as a ghost and doesn't even care that we're home. Not long after this happened he goes to Afghanistan because he's Special Forces. Eventually both me and my sister joined the military and got deployed too. so much shit changed after this happened and most of you who were too young don't realize it.

nostalgia music for those who were internet fags when this happened god damn, the memories
Have you never heard Stern before? He's always been an insensitive dick.
Not entirely familiar with him, I'm sure he's big in America. It's not the insensitivity, more the frighteningly serious opinions on the eastern world.
I WILL GLADLY FIGHT BESIDE ANYONE WHO WANTS TO GO AFTER THESE COWARDLY BASTARDS!!
Except for the part where FP didn't exist in 2001
not true garry actually created facepunch on september 11 2001 it said so in his profile [editline]18th April 2013[/editline]
The next few months was spent retaliating against Al Qaeda by playing anti-Osama flash games.
I dunno, getting Obama to say, "What is a Facepunch?" is a pretty big achievement in my opinion.
Woah what I missed this, someone fill me in.
quoted: a microcosm of the american government's response to 9/11 oh this is great the most sensible post in that thread nice 9/11 really brought out the worst in some people
they wanted to get people scared and angry. and they did.
There is a call from the airplane that crashed into a field after the passengers hijacked it back.
I couldn't find the sound clip, but I found this.
well how the fuck would you feel, in the heat of the moment, you don't know any facts at all, all you know is that your country has been terribly attacked and you're just furiously mad at everything
The aftershock of this event and the concurring consequences throughout the years as I developed my political opinion actually resulted in me losing all patriotism and respect for "my country."
Never before and never since has there been a day that will be so clearly remembered by every American who was old enough to understand what was happening.
There was probably only one other televised event that every American who was there to witness will never forget. Though putting it in this perspective it's really kind of sad.
Think I was about 5 at the time, don't remember much although no doubt my parents said something about who America were going to invade now. Nothing happened at school, just a normal school day (England), a bigger deal was made over the Queen Mothers funeral. 9/11 got me scared of flying for a while though.
even as a child I found those distasteful and stupid
There was this one where you would bomb some third world city, and it would show some pretty gruesome scenes of missiles hitting markets and such. You could even kill the women and children. Never went on that website again.

Some Arab Fuck City Neeeds to be nuked. This is fucking intolerable.
9/11 really brought out the worst in some people
My father was saying the same thing in the days afterward. "Two of their cities for two of our buildings"
