Nintendo announces a new product and their shares....drop? How does that even make sense?
I guess people were scared since the console looks risky. I mean its not simply updating graphics likes its a new controller which may or may not be a good buy and I guess in this economy people are playing it safe.
I guess that's what happens when you're 6 years late in the console front. I mean come on, instead of coming up with something new, they just come up with something they should have done 6 years ago, they might as well have just waited until they could pull something new. Yeah there's the screen in the controller thing but who is going to play on the controller instead of on a TV where it's better in every way?
I can now be playing a game, and then when I need to go for a shit bring the game with me.
Well I can give it that, but that really doesn't make it worth it. Now if I was able to take the controller anywhere and still play the game, that would be awesome.
It's more creative than slapping a single digit number on the end of a name you've been using since you started making consoles.
Actually it's no different at all, instead of a number they placed a letter, big woop.
I can now be playing a game, and then when I need to go for a shit bring the game with me.
Actually I watched an interview with Reggie and he said that you're meant to stay in the same room or it'll cut off. :frown: Of course, no issues if your toilet is next to the console. :v:

Nintendo should fire the people who makes names for their consoles.
I wish we were more developed in terms of wireless electricity. And there goes my merge.
I mean come on, instead of coming up with something new
Considering on average the only difference between console generations is there graphical level this is something new. At least they aren't talking about waggling your wiistick anymore.
Nintendo should fire the people who makes names for their consoles.
I bet it will catch on but just like the wii it will take a while.
Nintendo should fire the people who makes names for their consoles.
gamecube is an awesome name what are you talking about
I'm guessing the shareholders were expecting something that could beat the Xbox and PS3 and instead got something that's on par with them.
I'm guessing the shareholders were expecting something that could beat the Xbox and PS3 and instead got something that's on par with them.
Except it IS considerably better. The graphics capabilities we have seen are just tech demos. They haven't learned how to fully push the hardware to it's limits yet, unlike the PS3 and Xbox 360. And it already looks considerably better and runs at 60 FPS, which is amazing for a console.
I think the problem here is that WiiU is not really up to par with nintendos rep. It's basically a PS3DS. It's catching point, the extra screen, has already been done and in 3d. It's got a game lineup that can be boasted by both of it's competitors if not bettered, and THEIR users won't have to buy an entirely new console just to play them. I have to say it's a pretty weak showing from nintendo, which in reality has nowhere near the hardcore support base of it's rivals. If I were Sony or Microsoft, I would not be overly worried the WiiU is going to be the next proverbial "Wii". Oh and it's a shit name. [editline]8th June 2011[/editline] Also I dont think developers are going to risk starting another console war just yet by going over to the WiiU. Right now they have a good gig making games for PS3 and 360. I can see some developing for the U, but , it would be financial madness for them to ignore the user bases for the other consoles by making U exclusives.
This has nothing to do with the Wii U actually. Nintendo shares have been dropping since long before E3. Sensationalism at its finest.
I was on the fence, but the more a I think about it, the more potential I see for the tablet. It could lead to some awesome multiplayer games. Like a FPS where your friend use it to mark targets and target air support, a competitive tower defense game where the person on the tablet build towers, and the person on the TV goes fights against them in first person, an Okami sequel that could bring the screen to the tablet to use the celestial brush, a survival horror where you have to point it at the screen to reveal ghosts, or an RTS without the normal weakness it would have on a console.
