As malvinas são brasileiras!
That's why the government cares about it, because they can blame someone else for something. Also, I'm surprised it went this long without someone posting that propaganda cartoon. It was like the second post in the last Falklands thread.
This this isn't real this is a parody this...this is a parody

Eh, they can say whatever the hell they like. It still doesn't make it true.
Eh, they can say whatever the hell they like. It still doesn't make it true.
If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself.
the subtitles sometimes fuck around, but i'm p sure that the animation itself is legit
The uploader says that some subtitles are made up for satirical reasons but they are pretty close to the real meaning, the lyrics of the last song are totally false tho. Also yes, the video is 100% real, in fact after it returns to his time Samba meets the same soldier, now a war vet who is working in the same museum the plane originated from.
Does anyone in Argentina actually believe this.
Seeing as top gear almost got fucking stoned for a legit coincidence with the number plates, yeah probably. Did those people get sentenced yet btw, or did they get off scot free like I think they did.
the subtitles sometimes fuck around, but i'm p sure that the animation itself is legit
Subtitles are a 'gist of it' sort of translation, the wording is joking but the content is accurate. Except for the last song, of course.
Honestly, the Falklands need to be returned to their true ancestral home. The U.S.A.
Why bother with those silly islands they are horrible anyway
Why bother with those silly islands they are horrible anyway
Yeah, it's the one place on earth where you can't go hunting penguins because of landmines. That's like trying to hunt bear but being thwarted by machinegun bunkers. [editline]21st November 2014[/editline] I bet you those penguins are laying even more landmines.
Why does ANYONE care about the Falklands? It's a few little islands in the middle of nowhere with a population smaller than that of the tiny town I live in.
I know, just give them to me.
Why does ANYONE care about the Falklands? It's a few little islands in the middle of nowhere with a population smaller than that of the tiny town I live in.
I believe it is to do with oil.
Oh no, not again... [editline]21st November 2014[/editline]
Honestly, the Falklands need to be returned to their true ancestral home. The U.S.A.
Did someone discover oil without saying anything??
If I remember correctly, the surrounding waters of the Falklands is pretty rich in under-sea oil/gas
If I remember correctly, the surrounding waters of the Falklands is pretty rich in under-sea oil/gas
Hm, I heard from sources that whilst there is oil/gas down there, no company is actually willing to exploit as they reckon operating costs would be too high compared to the profit, given the remote nature of the location and all the infrastructure that would need to be built down there. (I have family there)
If I remember correctly, the surrounding waters of the Falklands is pretty rich in under-sea oil/gas
Not particularly. There's some there, but not really that much. Also, Britain and Argentina had come to an agreement on splitting the profits, and Argentina dropped out of it PURELY because they didn't get to take over the Falklands. That's how ridiculous Argentina is - the only plausible thing worth fighting over, and they give it up because they don't get to take over an island that wants nothing to do with them.
Why does ANYONE care about the Falklands? It's a few little islands in the middle of nowhere with a population smaller than that of the tiny town I live in.
The people living there are British citizens and want to remain (99.8% of 90% of the population) as part of the British Empire. The British have a pretty good reason (to protect their citizens and their property). Argentina just really wants the land because they convinced themselves its actually part of Argentina even though there are almost no actual Argentinians living there.

It was like the second post in the last Falklands thread.
holy shit this is great
The Argentina government doesn't want the islands. It wants a "foreign devil." Like many times repeated over history its more useful to try to hide internal problems.
Maybe they should just have a referendum again:
Maybe they should just have a referendum again:
And from what I've heard at least 1 of those 3 people was snuck into the Falklands by our government. It's just a rumor but I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. [editline]21st November 2014[/editline] Also this conflict does weird things to other argentinians. Last year one of my classmates said that his father agreed with him that the falklands should be british. Later that year he said that his father had actually threatened to punch him because of saying that (not sure how you'd confuse a situation for it's complete opposite), and this year that same classmate started saying that they should be argentinian, despite the fact that he fucking hates this country.
holy shit this is great
This can't be real. I can't stop laughing.
Also it's hilarious how much info on this is censored here, specially in schools. When we were younger we were never given any details about the conflict aside from the "fact" that english people were corporates who didn't care about our culture. Even now that I'm in secondary school it's pathetic how little we see of the conflict in history class. The book I used this year only covered it for one page. Oh and you can't forget this little gem you can find in every single argentinian map in every school: [t]http://aulasv.com.ar/@aulav/mapas/argpol.jpg[/t] What's happening in this country is not just censorship, it's downright brainwashing.
Your country thinks it owns land belonging to another country, my province thinks it is a country... business as usual I suppose.
Can we claim Argentina due to its proximity to British territory?
Can we claim Argentina due to its proximity to British territory?
Please do, you will make us better somehow
Maybe they should just have a referendum again:
The Falklands are 48.8% more British than Scotland.
what? dollar is up like heaven, infaltion is too super high, the country is corrupted and they are thinking about this?
Just focus your anger on those damn dirty British, citizen. When the Falklands becomes Argentinian, these so-called "problems", like corruption and massive inflation, will become nothing compared to the joy of the Falklands becoming Argentinian again.
