I wonder if Slate will be able to emulate the Ipad, then you can sell Apps for money.
It's a full fledged Computer so No, none of this micro transaction/useless applications bullshit here. you could make them but whether or not people will buy your useless crap for an actual PC is another story. This is what I've been telling people all this fucking time, iPad = Awesome ideas but piss poor implementation Slate = everything I asked for
Behind the apple fanboy: OMG WHAT A RIPOFF. IM GONNA BOYCOTTT
Well I wanted to buy a netbook this summer, guess I'll wait for this bitch to come out.
I really can't imagine a worse OS than win 7 to put on a tablet [editline]09:34PM[/editline] apart from XP I guess
Suck it, Apple Sweet, sweet irony.
Runs Windows. It's going to flop. Performance is going to be terrible.
Runs Windows. It's going to flop. Performance is going to be terrible.
Of course PvtCupcakes would say something about how bad it would be because of Winders.
I don't see the appeal of tablets. Laptops are just so much more convenient, have more features, and are usually cheaper.
iPad will still win.
I ran windows 7 on an Eee 901 (which has basically the same specs as this). It was nice but it was undeniably slower than XP, so I fully expect this to not be great. On top of that, Windows in general (never mind 7) isn't made for touchscreen, never mind fingers, and the skin HP are making to get around this is probably going to be awful like most OEM's software. On top of that, general computer tasks like UAC and installing anti virus (cue tons of folk telling me I'm stupid and it/they need AV) and running the AV are going to take a hit on usability. The iPad is like an appliance, and it nails that perfectly. HP slate is like a touchscreen tablet PC, which have failed time after time after time. I've used Win 7 on a tablet and it isn't pretty, and I'm betting this will be the same
Get rid of it then.
That would be pretty dumb? I mean, their ad is filled with the crap software.
