Mother of God, Facepunch.
You people have the most schitzo political views on politics, and I agree with Zeke.

There are a number of rules set in place to dictate the popular response in one of these threads.
Most notably is that if a conservative or Republican does anything, it's evil.
Whereas if a liberal or a Democrat (or Obama) does anything, it's brilliant, flawless, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

You've got to be an absolute tool to believe this.
I have no end of criticisms for Obama, nor do I spare Conservatives any.
But, if someone from either group has a good idea, then it is still a good idea, regardless of who said it.

actually let me set the rule for any thread on FP:
anytime anything happens, someone will come out and try to point out that if it was different it wouldn't have the same response by FP.
and that someone should know how stupid that is and calling attention to it doesn't mean you are some genius who can see through hypocrisy.

It's all I've ever seen on this forum, just saying.
I can't remember the last some anyone bothered criticizing Obama. I can remember almost violent defense for him when Solyndra went under.

it's your problem if you can't remember things.

Not our problem if you either a. don't pay attention or b. can't read

I really don't get what you mean by that. The truth is that it doesn't happen, and when it does people get whipped up into a frenzy about it.
Don't pay attention to the few people that have ever criticized Obama? It really doesn't happen, and most people that do are branded as fringe lunatics that don't know what they're talking about.

What a witty rebuttal.
The Occupy movement was successful since Income Inequality and unfair lack of taxation for the rich are both being talked about in National Politics.
I am not sure how much more they need to do now.
They wanted us to be aware of the injustice that plagues our political system, and we are now aware.
there's a difference between criticizing obama and quoting stupid rhetoric.
They burnt the AMERICAN FLAG! oh hell no, its on!

Sarah Palin signed and desecrated a flag. TO ARMS!

While I would say that FP tends to be left leaning in it's political views for the most part, people constantly criticize both Obama and the Democratic party. If we criticize the Republicans more it's because they give us more to criticize.
This is so ridiculous. Shit got completely out of hand, this is not what the original occupy protests were about.
And? If people don't like that then they can go ahead and not vote for the "center right plutocrats" and if they don't like the two party system then they can vote for a third party. There are no laws in place that prevent this from happening.
Everyone keeps advocating government change through revolution despite the fact that we're about to have a universal suffrage election in 10 months and it's really starting to get on my nerves.
The problem is deeper rooted than that though. The system needs sweeping changes that can't be made as is.
Despite the efforts of a few members of congress (Bernie Sanders for instance), I can't see Citizens United being repealed, or limitations being put on campaign funds, or lobbying being effectively done away with. The government isn't working in the interest of the electorate, they're working in the interest of the highest bidder while keeping the standard of living just high enough that we can remain distracted by the Kardashians.
Things are only going further in that direction and the best we can do is slow the process at the voting booths.

The Occupy movement could be a political movement on the scale of the populists or the progressives if they swallowed their pride in their origins and tried to maintain a coherent organization and/or voice.
Surprised it took this long, what with how much the authorities have been rattling their cages.
The Occupy movement could be a political movement on the scale of the populists or the progressives if they swallowed their pride in their origins and tried to maintain a coherent organization and/or voice.
They have too many differing political views to unite unter a coherent group.
Some think Obama is the only person who can help, while others go for Ron Paul, and too many want violent revolution, etc.
Seriously though, if they are trying to get the general public on their side, burning the American flag and destroying public property is not the way to go. All that's going to do is piss everyone off, i know i'm not too happy about it and i don't even live anywhere close to there. The only way to get the public on your side is if you keep it peaceful, peace sighs don't help if you are chucking glass and other crap at the police, its way too easy for the media to spin that against you. They need to learn from Gandhi and Martin Luther King jr and start acting in a non-violent manner even if the police get a tad violent.
The most the Occupy movement will ever be is a tiny leftist minority that changed the political discourse of this election cycle.

I am sure those flag burners are only a small minority within the larger Occupy movement.

I feel bad for the Oakland City Hall office furniture that had to get caught up in the middle of this :(

It doesn't matter if its 100 people or 10, if the occupy movement lets them stay with them then everyone will get painted the same, its sad that's what happens but its true. They need to kick them out and not associate with them or they will all be seen as flag burners or glass throwers. They could even kindly talk to the police and point out who is doing it, i have seen it work before in protests, they just have to want to do it.

Jeez, I must have hit a nerve. Calm down, we're all friends here.
The first link you posted was not a criticism in any way. In fact, I applaud him for coming out against SOPA. The second link is a little iffy. Most people in there seem confident in what he is doing.
Only the last post you linked seemed to relate to what I was talking about, and it's true, blatant pandering to the pro-Israel voters. Glad to see people can see through that one.
Just FYI, you don't need to resort to calling somebody a "fucking retard" to get your point across. Most people on this server are capable of mature discussion.

Bpppffffhahhaa
I've seen my share of criticisms against Obama and his fellow DEMs on facepunch, its just harder to find at times cause the GOPer's bullshit hits FP more often.

I'm actually not that angry, I just like using that phrase when people are objectively wrong and can't see it.
I messed up the first link you mentioned, if you typed this before I edited it click it again to see a post criticizing Obama with 11 agrees.
In the second link the poster is calling Obama "a fucking clone of Bush" which I'd hardly say is a compliment, and he has 42 agrees. He does qualify it, but the point of his post is to criticize Obama and a large majority agreed with him.
I'm sorry if I insulted you but the claims your making just factually aren't true.
