...But safley landed in Louisina. If the titles misleading, im sorry, title word limit reached http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/10/26/nukes.lost.communications/index.html?hpt=T2
you should of used bold.
Jesus christ the title almost gave me a heart attack
That makes no sense. If I was prepared to take the bullet then I wouldn't need to fire back?
The attack could have been prevented entirely.
Oh well, shit happens.
\ [editline]26th October 2010[/editline] Nuclear weapons almost ended the world since they were created, and that means still today.
The funniest part about that is when they first tested the nuke, they thought the atmosphere would catch on fire...
If we get rid of ours, someone with malicious intent will still have theirs.
sadly this is corrct - i wish we didnt have them but now that they are here... Gonna have to keep a few of them around - i just wish we didnt have as much as we have....
Holy shit.. my heart stopped and I stared at the title for like 10 seconds before clicking.
Should have nuked america to shit. But of course, that would then be blamed on the Iran or something.
nuclear weapons also nearly ended the world at least twice
Twice? They didn't even fucking do it once you retard.
Think about the term "speak softly and carry a big stick". We found the biggest stick. Sadly, others did too. It's not like they are being used often. Nuclear bombs are horrible weapons designed to kill.
Nukes are political weapons now [editline]27th October 2010[/editline]
Twice? They didn't even fucking do it once you retard.
Keyword being "nearly"
Gates takes nuclear weapon security very seriously.
Well that's good to know...
Nukes are political weapons now [editline]27th October 2010[/editline] Keyword being "nearly"
Nope, not even nearly.
It's the end of the world when someone launches a Tzar.
Nuclear weapons also killed plenty of civilians in Hiroshima.
The Nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki are completely justifiable
Okay OP. They were not in any way "launched". When you say launched, FP pictures a silo opening up and a rocket shooting out. A plane flew around with them and landed. Second of all, that part happened in 2007, it even says so in the source you posted... But wow, pretty bad fuck up.
ITT no one reads this post. Or the source article. also i love all the Fpers crying "Nukes are bad!!" or 'i wish we did not have so many D:" The United States is one of the signing members of the MAD agreement which keeps and has kept the entire world from using nuclear weapons. Secondly we need to many because not all nukes may hit their target. Nukes may be intercepted or malfunction.
6 Nuclear weapons launched...
:aaaaa:
...But safley landed in Louisina.
:sweatdrop:
Nuclear weapons also killed plenty of civilians in Hiroshima.
the lesser of two evils [editline]27th October 2010[/editline]
It's the end of the world when someone launches a Tzar.
if anyone even remotely DARED to build another one then they wouldn't be stupid enough to fire it

Goddammit, those things should've hit New Jersey, it'd give those guido bastards one hell of a tan.
Whats with all the America hate in this thread?
When something huge and powerful fucks up, people which bitch about it. Apple fucks up? Bitching (Although everyone bitches about Fapple anyway)
Fuck, I live in wyoming.
Nuke everyone and move to live in Stains. Init.
The attack could have been prevented entirely.
Evidence please. Please, these are huge, unfounded claims you are making. "hay guise, grate britin porpusly let da us rebal so dat in da futuer, dey wud hav an allie!"
This is why we need no nuclear weapons in the world.
If you are a moron who thinks Nukes have done more harm then good. Leave now. Lets take a walk back in time shall we? Lets see... World War II, Germany is defeated. Only thing in the Allies way is Japan. The heavy casualties on Iwo Jima dropped moral badly. And no one wanted to have a repeat of that. My great grandfather was serving in the Marines, all trained and ready to assault Hiroshima. Now my guess is he wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for that bomb. I think a lot of people wouldn't be here today. The Cold war, the United states of America and Russia are on the verge of all out war. What stops them? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutually_assured_destruction is why. If Russia attacks the U.S. then the U.S. drops some nukes on them, and vice versa. You are Iran, you are surrounded on all sides by people who hate your guts. But you're still alive, how? Because of your nuclear arsenal. No nukes = Iran is wiped of the face of the earth if a big bloody war. So what did we learn today? That Nukes can help protect small nations and stop rival super powers from beating the piss out of each other.
"Any time the president wanted to fire those missiles, he could have",
And that's supposed to make me feel safe?

That Nukes can help protect small nations and stop rival super powers from beating the piss out of each other.
To be honest, a small nation nuking a big nation would be the end of the world. First, the small country would most likely be absolutely DESTROYED, not to mention what's left of it shunned because they dared to launch a nuke. Then, if the nuke hit the 'superpower', that superpower is going to take a massive hit. More then one nuke makes it even more devestating. Now sides will be chosen, as some may have been for the nuking of the major country. Now the economy is going to fall apart, cause it's not like you can nuke a major superpower and think things will be fine. Now everyone else is suffering due to lack of _______. More war breaks out to take what's left and slowly we destroy ourselves. I'm not saying it'd have to happen that way, but that's an example of how nukes are just a failsafe. I don't think anyones going to use a nuke anymore.. I can see them going towards asteroids or planets before I can truely see someone nuking anyone. Although I expected north korea to do somehting stupid when Kim Jong Il either dies or steps down (not sure if he's stepped down.. I just remember seeing a thread about his son.) [editline]27th October 2010[/editline]
And that's supposed to make me feel safe?
It's not really supposed to make you feel unsafe. I'm sure any country with nukes has the button that destroys what's in their sights. This was just ours.. and most people would be all "Oh great we're protected!" when in reality he's not gonna use them.
Misleading Thread Title of the Year
I'm probably going to get flamed, but oh well. IMO, killing may be necessary, but it's never justified. Bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki was definitely not the 'right' thing to do, but it, in all likelihood, had to be done.
