Not a prick with a pointy-haired boss who doesn't do anything, but reaps all of the reward from my work. Look at Bill Gates. He's a scumbag who has billions of dollars, while the real programmers at Microsoft are getting their measly salaries. Would it kill him to even up the wealth a bit? Maybe he could have paid his workers a little bit better while still being the richest man in the world. Bill Gates probably hasn't done any programming since 1984.

But I have been saying 'You want 90% of my pay? Go to hell', because that's how I feel. People shouldn't have to give away more and more of their income just because they make more. At 15%, they'd still be getting more money from a person making $50,000 vs $16,000, and that sounds fair to me. Microsoft workers make a lot of money. They get good benefits too. We are lucky that a person like Bill Gates was the one to lead windows for as long as he did, if not, we might be using a very different and unsupported operating system then we have today. BTW fuck all the moneyz he's given away, it don't matter. I bet this guy doesn't program EVVERRRR:
Name: Ric Weiland Most Recent Job: Board of Directors, Pride Foundation Years at Microsoft: 13 Position: Lead Programmer, Project Leader The project leader for Microsoft Works and lead programmer for the BASIC and COBOL language systems, Ric Weiland was described as a "brilliant programmer" and key to Microsoft's success by Paul Allen. Before his untimely passing in 2006, Weiland was one of the nation's most powerful LGBT activists, contributing over $30 million in his lifetime and bequeathing $65 million more while never seeking the limelight for his work.
You are picking on the wrong company right now.

And then within the same paragraph you advocate a 15% flat tax? What the fuck?
Fox News: 60% of "Americans" hate America!
and 5 percent view the disparity as “smaller” than it has been historically
This just in, 5% of the country are fucking imbeciles.
At 15%, they'd still be getting more money from a person making $50,000 vs $16,000, and that sounds fair to me.
And yet, both have to pay a minimum amount for food, housing, basic necessities, etc. Additionally, the guy making $500,000 a year definitely doesn't need $475,000 a year to get by. And he certainly doesn't work 10 times as many hours as the guy making $50,000. Sure, not everyone should be making the exact same amount of money. But it should be way more even than it is now. Hell, haven't the average wages for the bottom 50% (or some percentage like that) stayed roughly the same for about 30 years? Also, wages are set arbitrarily, you know that, right?
Ridge, I just want to say that I really want to take your arguments and your standpoints seriously. But when you say such down-right retarded things, it makes me wonder if you've ever had an education. You're not helping yourself, in fact, it's as if you're trying your hardest to look like a parody account, trying to emulate far right rhetoric. Then at other times you stop being a dumbfuck and you post insightful things, is your account compromised, and they hop on randomly to post?
I pretty much agree. Us liberals are open minded to a point but goddamn [editline]11th November 2011[/editline]
Yeah because the rest of us are totally calling them 'lazy'. And I'd love to see how being a coal miner is more mentally stressful than being the CEO of a company.
It's probably mentally stressful in different ways. Like I don't know how much mining pays but I bet many are wondering constantly how to put food on the table.
You hear that? The Americans want wealth re-distribution policies.
That is not what it said at all. Of course you being the one reading it, you would reach that conclusion. [editline]e[/editline]
Why wasn't this posted yet?
uh, maybe because it's a fucking retard holding up a piece of paper?
That is not what it said at all. Of course you being the one reading it, you would reach that conclusion.
Well then, how do you interpret this line:
Indeed, 60 percent of Americans think the federal government should “pursue policies that try to reduce the gap between wealth and less well-off Americans,”
So what does "pursue policies that try to reduce the gap between wealth and less well-off Americans” even mean? That the federal government should step in and tell people how much money they can make? I really don't see an effective way of having the federal government policing peoples' wealth.
So what does "pursue policies that try to reduce the gap between wealth and less well-off Americans” even mean? It's called 'taxes'.
Just because some people have more money doesn't mean they worked harder for it.
Just because some people have more money, doesn't mean that some people have less money.
You're joking right? We pay our taxes. People in the middle-upper class probably pay more in taxes then anyone else. And still, people just want to tax the middle-upper class more 'just because their income isn't equal to a coal miner'.
I recall my Highschool AP econ teacher saying the rich only account for 10% of all tax revenue. They know where to put there money, how to handle it, what to categorize it as, who to pay off, they know the system. They know how to avoid taxes, or as many taxes as they can. [editline]11th November 2011[/editline]
Not every CEO of every company, jumped all over people and crushed people to get to where they are, some genuinely worked hard. In fact IIRC, a while back a Japanese CEO cut his pay down to what his average workers was, so he wouldn't have to lay any workers off, not every CEO is a greedy ass clown.
Yeah but that wouldn't happen in America with the top 1%.
That 60% of people? Yeah, the top 5% have more money than all of you. Guess who is going to get their way in Congress?
You hear that? The Americans want wealth re-distribution policies.
I think you mean they want money. Someone else's preferably.
