soulstorm is fine, people overreacted
it has some shitty balance changes but it's still fun if you install the codex mod or something
dark crusade was also good, don't get me wrong
also DoW II was fun but not a proper DoW game, it should've gone under a different 40k title imo
Soulstorms campaign changes were bullshit. You effectively had to start from scratch whenever you got attacked. The balance sucked, MP was a nightmare.
To get any good from the game you had to mod it which kinda ruins the point of playing it.
DoW2 was awful, it threw away base building for shitty micro management and for the time poor graphics with low detail texturing too.
If Valve or Games Workshop won't buy THQ's assets I may say it has been wonderful to play all those Cohs/Stalkers/Dows and their mods even in their bad and horrible moments.
Now I shall retreat to listen that overly dramatic "Nearer my god to thee" and cry myself to sleep.
I hope Relic can find another publisher. I don't want Activision or EA to get their hands on CoH or DoW.
Relic is THQ. As far as the team goes there's essentially two options if THQ goes under.
a) they reform under a different, new name
b) a different publisher essentially nabs all THQ assets including team name trademarks and other stuff. In which case they might continue to exist.

a) soulstorm is not a relic game, but was made by iron lore almost exclusively
b) it shipped with at least utterly gamebreaking bugs which made competitive play broken for months. (sororita resource bug, harlequin dance resource bug, Deldar powers being useable by third parties)
c) the automatch was broken for more months
d) the campaign had a huge memory leak that lead to five minute long load times in places
e) the balance was thrown out of the window.
f) most of these things were fixed in patch. WHich came months after the original release and by then the game was dead.
Guerrilla was the only game in the series that was open-world. Non-linearity is hardly a defining feature of the series.
The annoying thing is Guerrilla was based around destruction but all the weapons were generic assault rifles and shit. Then they release Armageddon which was entirely linear with solid rock corridors and all the weapons are designed around wrecking buildings and fucking with physics.
We need a new Red Faction with the open world of Guerrilla and the weapons of Armageddon.
I also would like to have some kind of respawnable buildings, in Guerilla you just wrecked the whole planet and there was nothing else to destroy after all the carnage. Also the enemies were always warming you making it impossible to achieve anything.
