Yea and Jesus said unto his followers "Death to all the brown people and non-believers, that they might visit unto the house of the Lord at your hands"
no more like that guy from pulp fiction
samuel l jackson when he was shooting that guy on the chair
it involved striking down with furious anger those who hurt your brothers or something
It is dumb that they are getting rid of this.
It is sort of like a tradition or a trademark for certain companies to do things like this, and that should be completely up to the company. If you don't want the scope-Don't buy it, its really that simple.
I own one of these scopes, I plan on taking it off my rifle and keeping it in safe keeping because I'm fairly sure in 20-25 years the value is going to skyrocket.
I've bought products that have other ethnicity's emblems on them, even some of ones I completely disagree with.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Trijicon the creator of the ACOG is a privately owned company. When ever the government bought the contract for ACOG for use in the military, they bought the product as it comes.
And to be honest, in my own personal opinion I think that the quotes are fine.
I will have to agree though, this isn't a separation of church and state issue.
Because everyone has to utilize these scopes regardless of their beliefs; It will alienate non-Christian soldiers among other things.
Uhhhhhhh...not all soldiers are equipped with ACOG scopes on their standard arms there buddy.

Until a non-christian solider uses them.
There have been some very good points made, though. Non-christian soldiers who use the equipment may not much like the idea. And the U.S. government really shouldn't be seen to sponsor any religion over another.

They could rub out the statements?
You're seriously not going to notice it unless you're looking really closely. I don't see what the big deal is.
That are being forced upon you.
Quoting the bible isn't really forcing Christianity on you, in my opinion.

For one, it makes great propaganda for the radical types who portray this as a war against Christian crusaders.
This is more disrespectful to religion than not. You're tacking on something of peace, love, and understanding to violence, murder, and war. Bible verses have no place in war equipment.

Woah, that's pretty lame.
I was expecting the sight to actually have the verse written on it somehow.
That's just being a cheapskate.
Yeah, I expected something totally different.
If you're putting Bible verses on a fucking scope, at least do it properly.
god powers my acog scope so i can murder some motherfucking muslims in a shithole country

It's the principle not the execution of said principle
my god why are you all so one dimensional
But Christian references + cool guns = badass, isn't it?
To me it ruins an otherwise cool thing

I can assure you I exist in three dimensions.
I most likely exist in more than three, but right now, I can only observe the first three dimensions.
its a pretty obscure reference
its in the serial number, how would that offend you.
Id understand if they engraved "THOU SHALT NOT KILL THY NEIGHBOR" over the lens so you had to see it
not like we can undo it :v:

so you didn't even read the article? it said it was in the serial numbers :v:

At the end of a series of numbers and letters is a Bible reference – such as JN8:12, 2COR4:6 – which can be easily overlooked as part of the stock number.
unless you meant you thought it would be really big or something
It's the principle not the execution of said principle

Because when you find out it was used for a serial number and the line wasn't actually written on the damn thing. You have wonder what the big fucking deal. Especially when we have more fucking important things, liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike women's rights.
Being an atheist in a country that for the most part that is entirely christian; an ACOG sight with a bible verse on it is not going to make me feel alienated.

Why would you even bring up women's rights, it has nothing to do with this and dealing with this will do absolutely nothing to impede women's rights
the only reason I can come up with is that you want to change the subject
no more like that guy from pulp fiction

That was
Ezekiel 25:17
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."
And only the last two sentences are actually from it, technically, while the first bit is a combination of various verses from other parts.
Still, a badass part.

No, I was pointing out a group of numbers that signify both a serial number for a product and are scripture numbers from a holy book is kind of...not really an issue. Not that big of one anyway.
I want more Christian news!

I wonder how many of these atheist/jewish/etc soldiers who this apparently offended so much even knew that existed. Hell even if they did, all it would take is like 4 minutes with sand paper to have it gone.

It was enough of an issue that they chose to remove it.
