From reading the article it sounds like the grandparents were taking care of him. But that raises the question of why you'd have guns in the home if you are raising a violent, mentally ill teen. And why he'd have access to those guns?

Going off of what I saw of the firearm chances are it was a very old Winchester lever action, aside from 30-30 almost all of the calibres those rifles were made in are no longer manufactured aside from small shops on a custom basis. There's even a chance it could have been old enough to be legally not be considered a firearm. It was most likely an heirloom that sat as a mantle piece without any ammo available for it.

It won't, in fact, people won't realize their posts have massively shit reception because ratings were a one-click way to say "you're a fucking moron" or "fucking perfect 10/10" when making a post isn't neccesary. I mean sure there'll always be 2-4 people going "you're a dipshit" in a passive aggressive and/or informative manner, but it's not like we'll see 40+ posts of it like we'd get in ratings.

Regardless, it's not like anything will change either way because dumbasses were dumbasses when we had ratings anyway.
