Wrong.
Shit, seems like the x64 version is much worser than the x86 one.
To bad, i was thinking of buying more ram and switching. Guess i'm gonna have to wait for a while if i wanna use win 7.
I've got a friend on x64 and his is working perfectly fine.
Obviously several of the less-mainstream applications don't work due to not actually having x64 support, but otherwise he's doing great.
my install was flawless and ive found no bugs at all yet

64bit
Why the hell can't Microsoft get the upgrade process to work properly?
I'm not at all saying that OS X is a better operating system, but at least it upgrades properly. The transition between versions of OS X is near flawless.

KEEP THE BOXES COMING! CLEARLY I'M A MAC FAG BECAUSE I POINTED OUT A FLAW IN WINDOWS!
I wonder if any of this was user error?
I know a lot of people complain about computers and probably 90% of the time it is user error...
Yes I'm so bad at using computers that I got a job in computers and I also managed to make my computer BSoD 5 times a day!
I still see no reason to upgrade from XP, it works perfectly fine for me. I don't really give a shit about a fancy resource-hogging interface that appeals to the Mac crowd. There's more to an operating system than looking slick.
You are having some serious video driver issues there.
I think it was probably either RAM or CPU.

You'd love it if you switched.

Video drivers are very important to power states sir.
Video drivers are very important to power states sir.
Not really, they sorta are, not 100% though.
Not really, they sorta are, not 100% though.
The reason all those errors are Kernel-Power issues are because the BSoD causes the computer to turn off unexpectedly.
I think it was probably either RAM or CPU.
That would manifest in different ways though. Are you having Critical Errors in applications or Timing errors in programs? Perhaps Memory Cannot Be Read errors? Those are RAM and CPU indicators.
Power state troubles come a lot of times from bad drivers.
The only problem I had with installation was that it didn't let me format my HDDs :saddowns:
The only problem I had with installation was that it didn't let me format my HDDs :saddowns:
Get the right raid drivers...
The reason all those errors are Kernel-Power issues are because the BSoD causes the computer to turn off unexpectedly.
Computers shouldn't turn off when a BSOD occurs.

I think 95% of those BSoDs were 0x0000003B

Why? The operating system uses more resources, so everything runs shittier. I have to deal with compatibility problems in software I routinely use, and I have to relearn where everything is because every time Microsoft releases a new OS, they shuffle everything around for the sake of looking new. I couldn't tolerate a month with Vista, fuckin nothing worked and nothing was where it was supposed to be. I don't see any reason to believe Windows 7 is an improvement.
Computers shouldn't turn off when a BSOD occurs.
It goes to the BSoD then creates the dump then turns itself off and restarts.

Nothing you said in that post was even remotely true.

Bang, bad drivers. That's bad data being passed to the kernel.
Why? The operating system uses more resources, so everything runs shittier.
no in winpows xp firefox took 2 minutes to load now in windows 7 54-bit it only takes a few seconds so it does.

Incorrect, unused resources are a waste.
Bang, bad drivers. That's bad data being passed to the kernel.
Meh, I couldn't find out which driver it was. I had the same problem with 64-bit vista too. 32-bit is perfectly fine.

Yeah, one of the drivers you are using cannot handle the 64-bit kernel.
The only issue with Win7 I have is the fact that I'm unable to play Act of War: Direct Action.
Yeah, one of the drivers you are using cannot handle the 64-bit kernel.
Quite possibly the Graphics card then. I can't see what else it is, since CPU and RAM don't need drivers (:v:) and all my other installed drivers are peripherals like printers and MSDs. Well I suppose it could be the chipset.
driver problems = blame nvidia in my personal experience

Why dont you go run a dump file through the debugger?
Why dont you go run a dump file through the debugger?
I already installed 32-bit windows 7. I couldn't be bothered with it.

Computers are strange devices. Logic doesn't apply to them unless they like it. Sometimes certain mixtures of things don't play along, sometimes there's a piece of dust on the board that kills it (happened to me before), sometimes it's just one bit getting lost due to computing errors.

Considering the massive amount of changes nVidia does in every driver, it's a fair trade off.
It's better than Ati drivers, which are such a waste if you look at their cards.
Why dont you go run a dump file through the debugger?
Because dump files don't mean anything when it comes to faulty page memory. It would be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.
I've had it installed since the RTM ISO leaked in July. No complaints so far...
