Pixar always wanted to create a movie geared toward adults.
As in deliciously bloody action movie or skin flick?
maybe allowing valve to update the fucking steam IOS app? its still buggy as fuck from beta and hasnt been updated since.
This doesn't even mean that Apple wants to buy Valve. It could literally be for any reason.
Maybe it was a booty call.
10 bucks says he's a big Valve fan and probably wanted to look at the headquarters and chat. Also, Gabe isn't an apple-phobe like a lot of the PC community. A few years back he used to use Apple displays in his set up. Also, it may have something to do with this. http://games.ign.com/articles/119/1199760p1.html Could Steam be coming to the mobile platform? Maybe. [editline]13th April 2012[/editline]
Gabe Newell: So I use [the iPad 2] a ton, so if I could pick one magic wand I would have us all sit down and design a new, more gaming friendly tablet hardware interface and then build some content that really was designed at the same time as the hardware. So if I could pick one thing that would be it. Because I’m really frustrated as a tablet user with how mediocre the gaming inputs are.
On the one hand the man loves his iPad/iPhone but he has also bashed the platform for being too locked up. Also Steam is already on iOS/Android but Steamworks has yet to make the move.
Being a long time consumer(and fan) of Valve products, I must say I have lost a great deal of respect for valve after reading this article
Maybe Tim Cook is there to play some games.
free hats with every ipad sold
Apple uses their 100 billion in liquid cash to purchase Valve in its entirety. :suicide:
Being a long time consumer(and fan) of Valve products, I must say I have lost a great deal of respect for valve after reading this article
Because Tim Cook, who for all we know could be a huge Valve fan, visited Valve?
Wow I swear to fuck you guys carry on about apple, this isn't a bad thing you know
Apple uses their 100 billion in liquid cash to purchase Valve in its entirety. :suicide:
Episode 3 is a farmville clone exclusive to the next iPad.
Wow I swear to fuck you guys carry on about apple, this isn't a bad think you know
Why do complainers have to use generalizing, blanketing terms? know it'd be a shit storm if people here did the same for other groups of people.
..
Episode 3 is a farmville clone exclusive to the next iPad.
OH GOD THE HORROR...
this is akin to the tabloids in the super-market where it says that Angelina Jolie is having an affair with Sean Penn because they happened to occupy the same dimension.
I just looked at the title and thought "They're here to talk about Steam on Mac." Nothing to panic about guys, but feel free to do so, it's more fun that way.
Dear world: Please remember that Valve is a privately owned company and Gabe Newell owns 51% of it.
What happens to the 51% when he dies? I mean guys he is getting old we should consider the ramifications if it happens.
Possibly Steam for the games part of the AppStore?
What happens to the 51% when he dies? I mean guys he is getting old we should consider the ramifications if it happens.
Stocks can be handed over to whoever the hell he states in his will, just like all of his other property. It's not up for grabs or anything like that...
Here's what I see as possible reasons: - Apple offered buying out, to which Gabe will have said no. - Business deal between Apple and Valve for something. Steam preloaded, iOS stuff, hardware for the Steam Console, something like that. I'd be worried if it was a hardware deal because Apple hardware breaks pretty easily, but not THAT worried because I don't expect the Steam Console to actually be moved around much. - Personal reasons. in any case no real cause for alarm
They are probably talking about possible gaming hardware or more software support on mac or ipad/ipods perhaps.
I know it'd never happen, but if valve ever were bought out and run by apple my most major complaint would probably just having to install itunes on my computer. I loath itunes with a passion, the thing feels pretty clunky at times and is damn near impossible to uninstall; it made me regret buying an ipod. I liked the device, but the software was awful.
itt wherever an apple employee goes it automatically means they're trying to buy the place
What happens to the 51% when he dies? I mean guys he is getting old we should consider the ramifications if it happens.
He's 49. Most of Facepunch's parents would be older; it's nothing to worry about.
He's 49. Most of Facepunch's parents would be older; it's nothing to worry about.
Yeah but he's also fat as all hell so that will have quite an impact on his life expectancy.
Okay. So?.. I'd like some more mac ports on steam if anything really. [editline]14th April 2012[/editline]
Yeah but he's also fat as all hell so that will have quite an impact on his life expectancy.
He's been trying to lose it, but honestly i don't see a massive change in his body.
You're awesome Gabe, you're my biggest Idol and I still rememebr when you wrote me an autograph! Thanks to him I started educating myself in 3D modelling, I want to work on his company building one day (that will never happen tough)
Hopefully Tim Cook is only there to ask Gabe Newell for advice on how to run a good company.
More like looking for secrets how to make service like Steam make even more money.
(that will never happen tough)
Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right.
