Everyone knows that Valve wouldnt make a decision that screws their customers, so anything that comes out of this must be beneficial.
Valve is becoming a behemoth of a company, we are very lucky that they act the way they do. Right now they could just turn into the biggest dicks ever if they wanted and still turn a big profit every year from Steam.
Valve buys Apple?
Have to be a cold day in hell for that to happen. 1 Gabe isn't a idiot and 2 Valve is a privately owned company.
Apple HQ just turned on the AC.
Calm down guys, Gabe has his head on straight.
Apple HQ just turned on the VAC.
Fixed
Here's what I see as possible reasons:
- Apple offered buying out, to which Gabe will have said no.
- Business deal between Apple and Valve for something. Steam preloaded, iOS stuff, hardware for the Steam Console, something like that. I'd be worried if it was a hardware deal because Apple hardware breaks pretty easily, but not THAT worried because I don't expect the Steam Console to actually be moved around much.
- Personal reasons.
in any case no real cause for alarm
Mac update sequel?
He obviously wanted a hat.
He went to talk about Steam for mac? Or suggest steam for ipods?
He went to talk about Steam for mac? Or suggest steam for ipods?
iPods? Who still uses that?
Maybe they're both gay.

Gabes kid is a robot!!!11!!1!
iPods? Who still uses that?
I do.
The iPod classic is the best PMP I've ever had, bar none, for the following reasons:
- Capacity. Whoever declared the storage method they use as "obsolete" doesn't know what they're talking about, because no other device on the market has 160GB (yes, one hundred sixty) of local storage. Most flash storage based players don't even hit 32.
- Battery life. My iPod can go about five days without touching the cable. Admittedly not the best battery life ever (I had some generic brand 2GB MP3 player that could go for months on a single AAA battery, not even joking), but considering what most players these days have (two days MAYBE) it's still pretty damn good.
- Can be used as a flash drive.
- Simple interface.
- Can be supported by things other than iTunes, no problem.
- Very popular, so you're guaranteed going to be able to find a nice case for it.
According to Apple Insider, Tim Cook was spotted at Valve this week. Of course you know that means the rumors are going to be swirling hot-and-heavy for now until the end of time that Apple is buying Valve, collaborating with Valve, or at least secret best friends with Valve. So we thought we'd get a head start on the rumor mill and list the most likely things Tim Cook was actually doing at the lauded game developer, so far up the west coast:
1. Slathering the Steam client in green felt.
2. Putting the finishing touches on a wearable computer / home console / robot that uses Apple hardware and Valve software.
3. Playing Half-Life 3 with Gabe Newell and having a blast.
Let the conjecture begin!
Alien Swarm, now on the iOS for free!
Please
Maybe they're just there to discuss Steam for Macs a bit more?
Doubt it, Apple would just send a representative to discuss and take notes. The CEO wouldn't go just to 'discuss STEAM for MACs'
You know the wearable hardware they announced? =)
I'm surprised nobody went "Gabe likes MLP, so i'm glad that they're being bought out by Apple"
But seriously, I hope it's something to do with running Steam on Apple devices and Valve not getting an offer and being bought out.
Watch, day later that damned Angry Birds developer enters Valve HQ and we see Angry Birds on Steam. And maybe Angry Birds themed steam skin.
even Garry thinks it doesn't happen

Do we really need a reason why he'd be there? Valve HQ is fucking awesome, why wouldn't he be there.

I'm torn. On one hand, I want more players to play with. On the other hand, Mac Scrubs.
I have a feeling the two companies are going to work closely. They both have enormous resources each wants and needs to expand.
I'd imagine Apple wants to break into the gamers market by creating some game-compatible machines considering that they are not practical for that use. Worst case scenario would probably be the availability of Steam games on the Apple Store; maybe.
The Steam Box, now $1499*.
*Please don't mention that you can build it yourself for a 3rd of the price or buy a PC for two-thirds the price.
Gabe... don't fuck everything up now. Turn your back and lock the door.
If he can reach it while eating a donut with the other hand.
Apple will finance Ricochet 2.

Easy kills :clint:
Meh, a takeover wouldn't be as bad as when Gabe became a brony.

Who cares if Gabe watches MLP, he's still awesome.
