Did anyone find that the sales were rather pathetic this year? I saw a fair number of deals on things like clothing, but when it comes to electronics, the only deals that I saw were TVs with picture quality that induced nausea. Almost everything I saw was marked up from 2 weeks ago, and on "sale" for marginally less than the price before.
Why is there a black santa arguing with a communist

Wow, I knew black friday was kind of a big deal in America. Didn't know it was this...horrible. That's just depressing.

The only sale that I saw was at my Subway. Spicy Italian subs were made the $5 sub of the month. Their usual price? $5.50. Wow! What savings! :v:

It's not Black Friday until an innocent person gets trampled to death by people trying to save $200 on a TV. Fortunately, I haven't heard of any fatalities this year.
But yeah, Black Friday really is a mark of national shame, in my opinion. Most people I've seen don't act like the insanity you see in that video, but it really is a day/weekend of blatant consumerism that, really, does not have much justification to exist in the form it does. What's worse is that nobody thinks of the retail workers who have to work long, unpleasant hours (this year even cutting into Thanksgiving). I'm willing to bet that, soon enough, retail outlets won't even be closed on Thanksgiving, meaning that the only guaranteed day workers will get to spend with their family will be Christmas.
Mom to me: "Josh what do you want for christmas?"
Me: "Nothing"

It depressing when you see people kill each other over sports in other countries. I hope you don't think that America is the only country to do something like this.
I just REALLY REALLY wish sales had actually stayed on Friday rather than starting on Thanksgiving. Kinda ruins the idea, really

You have no idea how many times I've thought about finding a corner on the coast in Mexico and just drinking Cervezas and building boats. Or maybe move to a small, quieter town where there's more of a solid community. These type of things don't seem to happen when you know everyone in town.

I had the same conversation.
My mother got quite pissy at me, thinking I was trying to be an ass or something. I've always gone out to buy what I wanted right when I wanted it. I'm not one for "wish lists", so what am I to say?
Yeah, that's pretty horrible, when most of us have anything we could ever want to the point there is nothing outstanding that we do want. I'm asking for an Iphone for christmas and that's literally the only thing I want.

Have fun paying tribute to the cartels so that tiny town stays that way.
