the americans have been screwing over cubans for years via the platt amendment where basically (upon granting independence in the early 1900s) we reserved the right to do anything the fuck we want without their permission on their land and interfere with all foreign policy issues in cuba.
then later when the presidents began doing shit we didn't like we supported fidel castro by putting an arms embargo on the country so he and some rebels could stage a coup. then when fidel didn't live up to our expectations the gov't conspired with everyone (even the fucking mafia) to assassinate the motherfucker.
at every single opportunity the united states has treated cuba like a child and interfered with its affairs far more than with any state we have done to date

American full-size pickup trucks have always been built like tanks. It's not uncommon to see trucks from the 70s and 80s on the roads here in Upstate NY, not exactly a place with weather friendly to cars.

All the American auto companies are/were based in/around Detroit, where their winters are awfully cold.

Most canadian cars are from american manufacturers and brands. We get some fucking cold ass winters up here and our cars still run.
