but the police would never do anything wrong. these worthless parasites need to go home and get a JOB, and if they don't then it's their fault if they get brutalized!!!
If I had a dollar for every post I read that basically amounted to "why don't they go occupy a job??", I'd be fucking rich.
And even the most trained professionals have moments where they look back and think 'holy hell, why the fuck did I do that'.
Don't get me wrong, what happened to that marine is tragic, really is. It's just that the vibe I'm getting from some of FP is that the police are to be infallible at all times and that the idea of them making a mistake is as alien as you can get.
I'm not saying they need to be infallible, I'm saying they should be looked upon with a higher level of scrutiny than they have been getting.

What I'm saying is that people are incredibly unforgiving towards the police these days. They can't seem to do anything right.
Come to think of it, why are people crying foul when people who may not be part of Occupy protests get arrested (because let's face it, simply saying you don't affiliate with Occupy while you're in the middle of a protest, be it by accident or on purpose, is not always convincing) yet people are glorifying police officers getting hurt who may not even have been involved in camp cleanups? Double standard, anyone?

I don't even comment on those unaffiliated people getting arrested, so I'm afraid that's not a problem. Most likely the police believe that they are part of the protests, or there to bolster the protester's numbers, and arrest them.

Exactly. They are in said group so it's likely to assume that they're part of the protest yet a lot of Occupy supporters really like to use it against them as a way of proving their incompetence and madness with power.

I would prove their incompetence through other, more telling examples.

And if you want to, go nuts. I don't have the power to physically stop you anyway, nor would I if I did.

why the fuck SHOULD people be forgiving to the police? when they're crippling peaceful protesters and pepper spraying old ladies i think that's the exact time when we should continue to be unforgiving towards them.
Unless I get a source from a truthful news program I ain't believing a damn thing these idiots say is happening.

And crippling war vets and hitting already crippled vets.
Why would it be 'about fucking time' that Occupy got violent?
Because anyone with more than 3 brain cells knew it was going to become violent as a result of a police crackdown.
Our generation is so desperate to mean something that the majority of the protesters only have a vague idea of what they're doing.
Regardless, I support them, but not their violence.
What the fuck are you talking about you stupid prick
please never post again because saying that only 20 year olds are protesting, and only because they 'want to mean nothing' is indicative of profound idiocy
Unless I snuck an unintentional one in, where's the double standard?
It must've been; i read your post as it was poor judgement on the police's side to hit the marine, but worse that the protesters were being violent. Honest mistake, lets move on.

I wouldn't expect a peaceful protest to go anywhere, if you want better people in office, they would have to leave. And I think they're pretty happy where they are at the moment.
Not saying there isn't a peaceful resolution to be made here, but it wouldn't be worth much.

Yeah, we definitely can't vote for the politicians we prefer or attempt to get ones we don't like out of power through voting. I guess we gotta make 'em leave by force!
