as awful as this is it looks to me like the mom is going to try to sue for outrageously more than necessary false imprisonment, false arrest, malicious prosecution, assault, battery, excessive use of force, infliction of emotional distress and civil conspiracy jesus christ lady
I wasn't taught to unconditionally trust people with badges and guns.
I'm taught to trust and respect people that choose to defend us from criminals. Most police aren't heroes and most police aren't assholes. Most police are just regular people doing their job.
I don't know what the US Use of Force model looks like, but if a cop in Canada tasered someone for being a smartmouth, he'd be drummed out of the force and charged with "aggravated assault with a weapon".

"outrageously more than necessary" Jesus Christ what are you saying? [editline]2nd July 2011[/editline]
I'm a bit worried about going into a complex partial seizure when a cop is asking me questions. What would happen is that I'd start acting a bit weird grabbing onto things and picking at my clothing, my speech gets mangled so I wouldn't be able to communicate, and I usually start running off in a random direction. I don't have any control of myself when I am having one of these episodes, and stress can be a big trigger so I'd be likely to have one. To the officer and other people, it likely wouldn't look like a seizure because complex partial seizures aren't at all obvious to people who don't know what they are. They'd just see that someone is acting really sketchy and perhaps is about to pull a weapon out with all his fumbling, and now he's trying to run away. I'd probably get tackled and wouldn't be able to put my hands behind my back, so I'd get rather brutal treatment for not complying.
Oh jeez. :ohdear: thank god I know what that is now! that sounds terrifying.
false imprisonment
he was arrested for no reason, hence false imprisonment
false arrest
see above
malicious prosecution assault, battery, excessive use of force, infliction of emotional distress
do I even need to explain
civil conspiracy
I don't know what this means exactly but if it means what I think it means then calling for 20 cops as backup counts for this
I was always taught it is of the up most importance to show respect to the police; but the police are not your friends.
Thats pretty much what should happen, and what they did. "outrageously more than necessary" Jesus Christ what are you saying?
I'm saying that even though this is horrible (but go ahead and ignore that part) the mom is probably going to try to get millions out of them for it I know all of the charges are legally correct and all that but it's still overboard
The mother could sue the police for a hate crime against her son... Also, how much of dick do you think the cop is for using pepper spray on the kid just for 'bad mouthing'?
The mother could sue the police for a hate crime against her son..
uh no
uh no
-snip- information was wrong
Whatever it takes to become a cop, it needs to be tougher.
Doughnut eating contests just aint cuttin it.
I wasn't taught to unconditionally trust people with badges and guns.
Neither was I, but at least I can differentiate the good ones from the bad ones. And yes, I do know some good ones.
I think everyone needs to consider why a story like this is news in the first place. After all, you don't see a lot of news articles about run-of-the-mill rapes and home invasions.
Well for one the police are supposed to be good.
I'm saying that even though this is horrible (but go ahead and ignore that part) the mom is probably going to try to get millions out of them for it I know all of the charges are legally correct and all that but it's still overboard
Good, I hope she gets money off of it. Damn cop should go into debt.
I don't know what this means exactly but if it means what I think it means then calling for 20 cops as backup counts for this
I imagine it's because of how difficult it is cooperating with police when one of their own is accused of something, and even when you can pry evidence out and get a conviction the guy is given a slap on the wrist.
Damn cop should go into debt.
So you want to get raped and murdered by a criminal because police was in debt and couldn't afford to help you?
How does a speech impediment in anyway sound like smart mouthing?
Doughnut eating contests just aint cuttin it.
Isn't that pretty much all a Cop does?
How does a speech impediment in anyway sound like smart mouthing?
Tourettes?
Isn't that pretty much all a Cop does?
that's the joke. That they need to eat doughtnuts to become a cop, because thats all they do
Tourettes?
as far as I know tourettes isn't a speech impediment
So you want to get raped and murdered by a criminal because police was in debt and couldn't afford to help you?
cop =/= the police force he meant for the individual policeman to be sued for a shitton
that's the joke. That they need to eat doughtnuts to become a cop, because thats all they do
I'm assuming you're joking. There are police officers that are committed to benefiting the public, and aren't stereotypical donut eating slobs, you know.
any cops that abuse the power they're given should lose their job instantly and get thrown in jail. beating on kids fucking hell
as far as I know tourettes isn't a speech impediment
It isn't necessarily, but it can be.
Well I am glad there are just two bad cops this time not 20 others, those two cops can get fired for all I care. Though I think the state should help out the family but not pay the family restitution of extremes. Sad that happened never the less.
