This has to be a joke. I am unwilling to believe that anyone would in all seriousness propose this bill.
I thought Republicunts were for small government? Now they want to track and prosecute citizens who get drugged up in other countries?
That was old republicans.
for a country that prides it's self on freedoms, that's pretty hypocritical to consider taking away the freedom to choose where to live
Most of our freedoms are slowly but surely being eroded by bureaucratic bullshit and corporate lobbyists, but no one will do anything about it until it gets really bad. At that point there'll be nothing anyone can really do though. But once again history proves that huge nations are eventually their own worst enemy.
Don't we have bigger problems?
What's new here? Like stupid shit like this isn't spewn around all the time in those parts.
Has this actually been done? Has this actually passed both the senate and house? Hm?
every day I think moving away from this country MIGHT be a good thing. I'm embarrassed to say I'm an American citizen. Not only do we have shitty stereotypes, our government is changing. Sometimes in good ways, sometimes in bad. I guess it wouldn't be so bad to move to the UK or Sweden. Hell, even Canada.
"Thoughtcrime does not entail death: thoughtcrime is death."
You have to remember that Orwell existed in a time before Jersey Shore and other reality TV shows.
Oh boy more anti-progress
This is the flaw of democracy, when the stupid people start outweighing the intelligent that's when shit hits the fan.
Everyone thinks interesting things happen in California, we think everything interesting happens in Texas.
The law against using drugs within the country of residence is bad enough as it is and doesn't fucking work, how the fuck do they expect to police this? On a lighter note, it says to plan to use drugs - don't plan to use them, just do them when you get there and DON'T think about it til then because the mind reading machines in the lamp posts will report you just like they do when you have a joint at home, be careful, shit!

There goes American tourists visiting my country.
So guys, I was thinking about trying some mari... Oh hang on, someone's at my door
Wow, I love my country. Thinking, talking about, or planning illegal activities is now illegal. But only if it's drugs. Sex trading rings? Sweat shops employing child labor, illegal in the US? You're both cool, plan away.
Would this apply also for 18 year olds that go abroad to get legally wasted? Alcohol is legal, but not for that age
I'm not sure if alcohol falls under the definition of a drug in the government's book.
Even if this went through (which it wont), it would be really difficult to prove someone guilty of this unless they actually wrote down a plan or something. TO DO LIST 1. Get on plane 2. Go to other country 3. Do lots of drugs
What.
I wonder who keeps signing these idiots anyways. I usually see bills like this and shit planning to pass but always failing.
Let's all just fucking declare Exterminatus on Texas.
There's are good reason why "weed" is legal here, so we don't even care what you think American politici. - Holland
Let's all just fucking declare Exterminatus on Texas.
drugs for the drug god
"You can get [prescription drug] without a prescription in [country]" Bam, off to the slammer
Whatever happened to free speech I'll never know
Land of the free my ass. Apparently they're attempting to pass minimum sentencing here for having even a cookie with weed in it now too. Fuck is with these people?
Land of the free my ass. Apparently they're attempting to pass minimum sentencing here for having even a cookie with weed in it now too. Fuck is with these people?
Minimum sentences for drug offenses in the new bill only apply to either more than 6 plants or possession with intent to sell The big joke was that more than 200 plants means you go to jail longer than someone who rapes a child
