Lol like this will actually pass.
So since no one in this thread probably knows what the bill is or what it does outside of what the sensationalist headline read, I tracked it down. The bill is called the Drug Trafficking Safe Harbor Elimination Act of 2011, and it was introduced in January (delay much?). The same bill was pigonholed in committee during the last session of Congress. It was probably pigionholed again and someone fought to get a Congressional committee to actually look at it. Ironically enough, for those who think that only a Republican could have such an absurd idea, the bill has one co-sponsor, Democratic Congressman Adam B. Schiff of California. Here's literally the only mention in the mainstream media I could find on it: http://www.kfyrtv.com/News_Stories.asp?news=52700. There was no mention of the bill in the news in 2010 either (except for drug discussion forums and 2 or 3 advocacy groups), which leads me to believe this is being blown totally out of proportion. If the bill gets out of committee, then it's time to worry.
This won't get out of committee or pass, we at least have some educated people in our Congress.
