"if I ever" does that mean you plan on running for the next election?
If so, you got facepunchs vote. I think.
Facepunch isn't old enough to vote.
Gore was, well I think you know, and Kerry was actually more of an idiot. We need smart people to run for president.
And Bush was somehow smarter?
Its amazing people act like these things are new. As long as the government has been around, its been spying on its own people. It happens in the United States, it happens in the United Kingdom, it happens in France, Germany, Spain, Canada. There is no country on the face of the Earth that doesn't covertly spy on its own people. People just make a big deal out of this because its Bush and bashing him is an awesome fad.
GJ.
You're acting like this the only thing wrong bush has done.
Oh and hating an awful president who laid waste to the country his led is now a bandwagon?
I don't really have an issue with these wiretappings. They are only going to be doing it to people who are suspected terrorists, and it is much better to have solid evidence and information about any terror attacks than none. I don't know why people seem to think that the whole spying thing involves them.
But what about when he was president? Shouldn't he have been impeached? He ruined millions of lives by signing a bill that put people into concentration camps because of their race.
We were at war during the time, and the Pearl Habor attacks stirred us up alot.
Of course, we're no fucking better than the nazis to be honest.
Also, I'm on the fence on this topic.
On one hand, The Government needs to know about possible illegal and harmful acts someone may be planning, but at the same time it infringes on our free-speech and privacy.

What if you were a suspected terrorist? Would that be okay?
And Bush was somehow smarter?
Yeah pretty much. You ever actually investigate for yourself about those three? Bush was smart in his head, just somewhere between his mind and his mouth the words got fucked up. He sounded like an idiot, probably was one, but better than Gore or Kerry any day.

If you're a suspected terrorist, then you need to stop buying barrels of fertilizer.
Secret Bush Spying you say?
...does anyone care anymore? They all do this, it's just that most are more adept at keeping it a secret.
...does anyone care anymore? They all do this, it's just that most are more adept at keeping it a secret.
Uhm why shouldn't Americans care when their rights are being infringed by war criminals?

I don't think anyone wouldn't not want to know about the fact that their rights were intruded upon.

Rights are created to protect the people from the goverment, and to keep the goverment from having too much power. People all just waiver it for "oh dear, I don't have anything to hide so let them spy me and make a file about me!". I don't want the goverment to know every intriciate detail about my life, pschychological state, where I go for eating and that kind of shit. Who says that the one managing these databanks aren't corrupt or using it for their own gain? You'll never read in on the news that's for sure.

This is very true. Looking at history, many stable republics and democracies have come to an end just because people's rights started being intruded upon.
I'm not saying that the US or Britain is going to fall to this any time soon; it's just unnerving that the United States Govt. would do such a thing.
It doesn't come as a huge surprise with the Bush Administration, however.
There also seems to be some kind of trend going for whenever you question the goverment, people riddecule you into oblivion ("conspiracy 9/11 lolol fat nerd"). Whilst alot of these people are attention whores without any backing of evidence, others which do have interesting evidence and statements just get ignored/called out due to this cultural development.
And Obama hasn't.

That's kind of scary if you think about it.... America needs proud smart people to be president, yet Bush and Kerry were the best we could come up with?
Jesus the Jew man
A government has spies? Ooh noooooo whatever will we do?!

British politicians, they aren't very likeable, but they certainly know their shit.

Starting a war the claimed about 70 million lives = Putting japense in containment camps.
no shit everyone knows this or believes things like this happen, if they don't they are pretty dumb
Wow, TBH i think it's pretty cool. All this spy shit going around behind our backs and us being none the wiser. I bet bush took out the odd extremist sometimes. It is happening.

Well yes,it's pretty ironic. When britain went to war their policy's regarding people's social lives and other policies were total fascism. Also the Nazi's didn't start the war, the British PM did.

Jesus Christ Sam Tilgan. Where have you been for the past nine years?
Torturing is infringing on the limits the Warsaw Convention set. Bush knowingly let torturing of PoW's go forward. This is a war crime.
Thats a terrible excuse to give up your liberty for.

I'm terrified already.
you're only terrified because you know it's true and you do have something to hide

Waterboarding is not torture.
Bush should be shot.
