Man, that thing could cut a man to ribbons. But what else could it cut? Forget a diamond super-edge katana, imagine a CHAINSAW with that kinda blade...
The ultimate Close-Combat weapon against anything, including tanks
Which kind; the ones with the little d, or the ones with the Big D? Or both?

Oh wow, it's about time for a real breakthrough in shaving tech, other than those new "revolutionary" razors that just have extra blades.
This is only news if its actually affordable.
I'm sure its going to be a couple hundred dollars for the blade. Don't press too hard. I can see this clearly ripping off the epidermis layer without fault. Also, the thread title isn't too descriptive. Synthetic diamond. Good one OP :\.
Drop it and it'll break, probably.
Drop it and it'll break, probably.
What? Its diamond, not crystal.
Dang. That's sharp. I do not want to use that to shave facial hair. Cuts will never be the same.
What? Its diamond, not crystal.
You're confusing hardness with toughness. Diamonds are very hard, (i.e scratch resistant, able to be and stay really sharp and stuff), but are also surprisingly brittle. Drop a diamond and it'll do one of 3 things: nothing, lose it's clearness, or shatter in pieces.
Self-Harm Fanatics will have a heyday! Seems like this is incredibly dangerous shaving.
This is only news if its actually affordable.

“If one adds together the costs of disposable razors over the period of one year,” he says, “then our diamond blade could certainly be a reasonably priced alternative.”
It's like buying shit at costco. It costs more, but you get a better deal in the end

I would kill for a utility knife blade like this. I can go through 10 in an hour sometimes.
I would kill for a utility knife blade like this. I can go through 10 in an hour sometimes.
Invest in the technology then. Actually this would be great for power tools and saw blades and the like. :ohdear: I NEED MONEY TO INVEST!!
Invest in the technology then. Actually this would be great for power tools and saw blades and the like. :ohdear: I NEED MONEY TO INVEST!!
it's a pity that someone already came up with that idea years ago and you've been able to readily buy such saw blades for ages.
One's that deliver the precision of a molecular cut? Cool story bro :v:
One's that deliver the precision of a molecular cut? Cool story bro :v:
that sentence makes no sense.
One's that deliver the precision of a molecular cut? Cool story bro :v:
maybe you should invest into a brain instead
Saw blades capable of delivering a cut with a precision of a few atoms? Interesting recollection brother.
Saw blades capable of delivering a cut with a precision of a few atoms? Interesting recollection brother.
there's no application where that would be necessary. even if there was diamond cutting blades would be of no assistance.
Suddenly an epidemic of people accidentally brutally cutting their heads off while shaving.
It's longer lasting and sharper, not a straightrazor or a jagged blade
Only a sharp mind could think of this. I feel lonely being the only one willing to post these puns.
Holy shit dude, I don't care if a kit costs 50 bucks...I'm totally buying one of these. Next they will be adding this coating to knives and stuff.
Sounds like it could slice the chin off the shaver.
