Only the Sith deal in absolutes...
So does Trump.
So does Clinton.
What is your recommended course of action?
vote for the least terrible
which in this instance is hillary clinton, mainly because she's the only big candidate who doesn't plan on gutting the regulatory framework of the american economy

instead i will vote for the candidate with whom i agree with the most, not who you tell me to vote for

so who do you agree with the most
so who do you agree with the most
bernie sanders ;_;
right now though im gonna say johnson, i agree with reducing government and military spending and that military internationalism is unwise, i agree with no bailouts for the banks, i agree with his stance on immigration and deportation (that anti-immigration laws lead to racial profiling), i agree with universal basic income
i am not well read up enough to opine on fairtax currently, i need to study more
i disagree with his stance on vaccines, that they shouldn't be mandatory (though i respect his reasoning more than the psuedoscience that other candidates have been spewing to criticize vaccines), i disagree with his stance on healthcare
i at least agree with him more than trump, stein, and even hillary though hillary is close second because i like her tax plan
i also like his attitude. if hillary makes a mistake she goes on about how she is above reproach and 9/11 and patrotism. trump makes a mistake he doubles down and talks about how he knows so much more than everyone else. johnson makes a mistake, he says hes just human and he needs to improve.
funny how my two favorite candidates were essentially polar opposites on the political spectrum; socialist and libertarian. id consider myself a moderate libertarian politically.
Anyone who tells anyone who to vote for is an ass, regardless of who it is. You can call them a dick for voting for someone you don't like, but you can't tell them who to vote for.
A vote is private to the individual.

but realtalk dont vote for trump
I mean if you're going to tell them who to vote for you may as well remove the whole right to vote and invoke direct democracy or some other crazy shit because obviously you don't respect the electoral process and don't respect other people having a right to be heard.

I wouldn't say that, he at the very least seems interested in compromise about various things such as education, health care, etc..
Libertarianism isn't a bad basis of your worldview, but plugging up your ears and saying "FREE MARKET WILL FIX EVERYTHING" is downright retarded. I'm a libertarian commie at heart pretty much but I don't stick purely to those ideals when debating.

telling somebody who they ought to vote for isn't the same as saying "end democracy"
candidates literally say "vote for me" all the time

yeah same, i think its a healthy worldview if you think about everything a bit. i have a few friends who were convinced libertarianism is evil but then i showed them that video and they said "you know this actually seems reasonable"
everything in moderation

i too find it funny - mostly because gary johnson would dismantle a lot of the regulations and government interventions keeping the american economy together and hoping for the best

actually candidates nowadays dont say "vote for me", all the commercials say "dont vote for that guy" :v:

I don't get this logic. I can't tell you "You should really vote for Hillary Clinton because she has the best (least worst) policies of the bunch" but I can say you're blistering retard for voting Gary Johnson or what? That really doesn't make much sense. My opinion on a candidate doesn't actually force you to vote as I want you to.
Disclaimer: I am, in fact, not calling anyone a blistering retard just because they want to vote for Gary Johnson.
actually candidates nowadays dont say "vote for me", all the commercials say "dont vote for that guy" :v:
Unintended side effect of FPTP voting. You only get two choices, so saying "don't do that" is the equivalent of "do this".

It's more like:
"I disagree with you and think Trump/Johnson is a dick, but hey it's your vote."
Rather than:
"I disagree and you should vote Clinton because I hate your candidate."
Does that make more sense?

oh yeah, american political system has decayed a bit more lately
even judges are hosting extravagant election campaigns these days
i too find it funny - mostly because gary johnson would dismantle a lot of the regulations and government interventions keeping the american economy together and hoping for the best
im going to need you to be specific

idk i was just being facetious i dont think you should read too much into what he or i said on that

this is another part of it, perhaps irrationally; another big reason im voting johnson is out of protest. im not concerned about "taking away a vote from hillary" because like half the population doesnt vote anything so you cant reasonably say its my fault if trump wins, and i want to see a more diverse political climate.
it's rightwing in the sense that there's a large overlap between it and the republican party, additionally libertarianism is broadly rightwing on economic policy. as for the whole "civil rights/abortion/etc" thing, libertarianism is generally more reactive than proactive when it comes to progressive social views
quite a few libertarians even want to revert various pieces of legislation protecting civil rights advances too (like allowing shops the right to discriminate against blacks)
Pretty sure that last point was debunked by the man himself.
im going to need you to be specific
for instance he wants to abolish government environmental regulations, cut subsidies to solar and wind power, and expand oil drilling
in addition he's wanting to eliminate the federal minimum wage, eliminate legally mandated sick and holiday leave for employees, abolish time and a half for working overtime, reintroduce the gold standard, abolish the federal reserve, eliminate estate tax, reduce corporation tax, end net neutrality, privatise social security, and allow the free market to run its course on healthcare
reintroduce the gold standard, abolish the federal reserve,
depression 2
yeah i got nothing im going to have to do more homework
Bernie supporters who now support Johnson make no sense because The only major thing they have in common is they both want legal weed and that's not even a big issue
depression 2
I'd prefer an explanation of how this will happen. The last depression was caused by people scared of a recession selling off their stocks causing shit to plummet. I'd think abolishing the federal reserve would do the opposite.

it has to do with that video i posted above; i feel like both are fundamentally good, honest people and a lot of people value authenticity.
Bernie supporters who now support Johnson make no sense because The only major thing they have in common is they both want legal weed and that's not even a big issue
Why would you marry a girl that did nothing but talk shit to your ex and probably had a hand in breaking you two up.
What I'm saying is, Hilary fucked over Sanders, yet people still seem to like the bitch. It's like one of those abusive relationships.
I'd prefer an explanation of how this will happen. The last depression was caused by people scared of a recession selling off their stocks causing shit to plummet. I'd think abolishing the federal reserve would do the opposite.
federal reserve was built to specifically to prevent that. people panic and take all their money out of the bank at once. normally, banks dont have all that money available because they use that money to invest, and you get interest in return. so everyone is asking for money that the bank doesnt have. here comes the federal reserve though, theyre gonna back the banks up staving off a huge economic collapse.
Hell if Hilary wasn't so damn manipulative I'd probably be voting for her. But she made her choice, and now she has to live with it, I'm not gonna give her satisfaction. Yeah, I'm a small fry but I still won't back down.

Overhauling the criminal justice system, ending the war on drugs, and some similarities in foreign policy are bigger issues than you're trying to paint them as.
