haha yeah the holocaust is a real corker
haha yeah you know what's even more of a corker? trying to boycott an entire town because of a street name that has nothing to do with the holocaust. It's a joke not a dick, no need to take it like one. You probably shouldn't be on the internet if you get so easily offended. You know what? let's boycott the internet. [editline]1st February 2015[/editline]
what's racism got to do with anything though. is this really a sufficient pretext to post that positively riotous "oy vey holocaust!" joke again? i don't think it is.
I guess you could say it's like another shoah.
Seems like a strange thing to be so offended by, especially considering it's historical context. It's not like it's called "Hitler Did Nothing Wrong Memorial Park".
Not so strange to me. First off, it's named after "a dictatorial local councillor" who was given the nickname Hitler. So that's not even the name of the guy they are naming the park after. Back in the war days maybe, just maybe, that name had topical relevance. Invoking Hitler's name back then made sense. In 2015? Now it only makes sense if you're deliberating trying to provoke a reaction. Also, "it's always been called that" is fairly lame for a reason. When all people have is to fall back on the tradition of it, I take that as an admission they have no case to make otherwise we'd hear it.
Around where i live there is a place called (rough translation) "Niggervillage"
how do you boycott a village?
You die of starvation in your house, alone and forgotten. Show'em but good.
haha yeah the holocaust is a real corker

why is the reaction here to some unnecessary offense to post a bunch of very racist and offensive jokes wtf "wow they seem a bit unnecessarily upset anyway kill all the jews haha genocide am i right guys haha money"
boy you guys are just hoots
boy you guys are just hoots
i only read the news in preparation for open mic nights at my local comedy club
That name is very offensive. "Hitlers Run" is much more politically correct.

What do they even care what the name of a street is; it isn't making some political statement, it isn't saying "Hitler was a great person", it's the name of a street that happens to have Hitler in it and now, long after it was named, some people are getting offended for whatever reason. It's stupid, not because the name itself is great or whatnot, but because it's a waste of time to change the name of a street just because some people decided to be offended.
Move somewhere else.
Suddenly the estate is cheaper there.
how come pretty much everything is called PC nowadays saying "I don't like a road with the word Hitler in it" isn't PC
because fucking social justice pariahs cant handle a good joke when they see it
well, if you consider 'haha, jews, haha, AUCHWITZ! haha, UNTERMENSCH!' a good joke then alright
I assure you that people would be equally mad if "Bin Laden's Flight" was a semipopular training course for new pilots.
uhh because it's only offensive if you CHOOSE to be offended
devils advocate here, trust me when I say I am definitely all for the whole reduction of the super sensitive culture that seems to be forming and I definitely think that people need to toughen the fuck up and stop being hurt by everything and also need to try to stop solving all of their issues with cries of hurt feelings and oppression and "triggering" BUT: saying "it's only offensive if you choose to be offended" with something like the fucking holocaust and jews dying by the millions is like saying "uhhh guns are only lethal if you choose to let it's bullets hit you"
devils advocate here, trust me when I say I am definitely all for the whole reduction of the super sensitive culture that seems to be forming and I definitely think that people need to toughen the fuck up and stop being hurt by everything and also need to try to stop solving all of their issues with cries of hurt feelings and oppression and "triggering" BUT: saying "it's only offensive if you choose to be offended" with something like the fucking holocaust and jews dying by the millions is like saying "uhhh guns are only lethal if you choose to let it's bullets hit you"
They chose to be offended by a street name that had literally zero connection to the second world war or the holocaust, purely because of a knee jerk reaction the name Hitler. Should we forcibly change the family name Hitler? Cause there's surely someone else in the world who shares the name, and as we've now discovered names can hurt feelings even if they're not even relevant to that person and we're all up for changing names now so why not?
well, if you consider 'haha, jews, haha, AUCHWITZ! haha, UNTERMENSCH!' a good joke then alright
I actually find those jokes funny because of people being butt mad at something that happened more than 70 years ago. It's as if Russians were talking shit about Mongolia because of what happened during the Golden Horde times, or half of Europe dissing France for Napoleon's conquests. [editline]1st February 2015[/editline]
They chose to be offended by a street name that had literally zero connection to the second world war or the holocaust, purely because of a knee jerk reaction the name Hitler. Just imagine being a full Jew with the surname Hitler.
so let me get this straight. the hitler in the street name has nothing to do with the real hitler, right? as in the name is just a name and not in reference to the real hitler because in that case i agree that it's bullshit
well, if you consider 'haha, jews, haha, AUCHWITZ! haha, UNTERMENSCH!' a good joke then alright
The thing is they are not just getting mad, they seek out the madness. They're not the only ones to suffer throughout history. Even in WWII, my own people got fucking shafted and fucked over multiple times. I accept that what happened, happened. It's history. Distant history by now, in fact. There is nothing I could have done to change the state of affairs, so why get my knickers in a twist? My people have suffered, and my nation has, throughout different wars, lost so much as up to 50% of our population, atrocities commited on us reaching back to the dark ages. But it happened and there's no point getting butthurt now, especially since I personally had nothing to do with the suffering. My grandparents did, but not me. If anyone should be mad, it's them, but guess what, they're not hung up about it. Terrible things happened to them, but they live in the present and are some of the most joyous grandparents around. Look to a brighter future instead. History is here to teach men the lessons they couldn't learn back then, so we may learn from these mistakes and hope to not make them again. It's not some emotional guilt-tripping crutch that you can just lean on when you need to make a point. Fuck me, why is it so hard to take things in stride and crack a joke now and then for so many people instead of puckering up their anus and getting all offended all the time. I mean, jesus christ, these particular people are just DYING to feel offended - they took it upon themselves to seek out the conflict and turn it into some idiotic media outcry instead of just going "huh, fancy that coincidence!" and promptly getting on with their lives. Fuck
haha yeah the holocaust is a real corker
Also your username is literally Dr. Gestapo
People are interested in stories about political madness gone mad, so the news pays attention to them. Even you care enough that you felt the need to both read the article and post here, so :v:
I was making an observation, it's like from every 10 stories online or on tv at least one of them is about an old guy from bumfuck nowhere complaining about random shit.
uhh because it's only offensive if you CHOOSE to be offended
So being offense is okay because it is the other person's fault that they are offended? "Wow why'd that black man beat me up for saying 'shut up, nigger,' he totally provoked me by being offended."
So being offense is okay because it is the other person's fault that they are offended? "Wow why'd that black man beat me up for saying 'shut up, nigger,' he totally provoked me by being offended."
i was being sarcastic, just making fun of the logic idiots use as an excuse to be racist
how come pretty much everything is called PC nowadays saying "I don't like a road with the word Hitler in it" isn't PC
The label is aimed towards people who have knee-jerk reactions while also refusing to search for the further context of it.
So being offense is okay because it is the other person's fault that they are offended? "Wow why'd that black man beat me up for saying 'shut up, nigger,' he totally provoked me by being offended."
In a way, yes. Words aren't inherently offensive, the meaning society gives to them is what gives them their power. Though individuals don't always get to choose what they are offended by, but they can chose how they react to it. That isn't to say going around offended people is okay; society works because people stay within what is considered acceptable most of the time.
Not as bad as Castrillo Matajudíos
Is it just me, or whole "modern" world seems like a bunch of cry babies bitching over anything that they can bitch about?

I personally find it a bit funny when, for example, I see a picture of a German FW 190 but there is a Balkenkruez where the swastika was also placed. :v:
i was being sarcastic, just making fun of the logic idiots use as an excuse to be racist
Poe's Law
i'd like to take a goosestep down hitler's walk one day. i feel like that would be worth doing just so on my deathbed i think back and laugh at what a stupid gag that is.

It's really offensive.
