• Kanye West puts ego aside, admits slip-up at Glastonbury left him 'depressed'

Kanye always struck me as a very outspoken person; one whose completely unafraid to speak his mind for better or worse; even early in his career he discussed this: "What more could you ask for? The international asshole Who complain about what he is owed? And throw a tantrum like he is 3 years old You gotta love it though somebody still speaks from his soul And wouldn't change by the change, or the game, or the fame" Kanye here is completely self aware of how he acts sometimes being selfish, immature and like an arsehole and of course that doesn't excuse it but what's important to me at least is that it proves that Kanye's ultimately just human. Who doesn't act like an asshole sometimes; especially someone whose very talented and knows it but still obviously has image problems coupled with some mental issues. Personally as well as loving Kanye's music I look past all the tantrums and drama and I can see a person whose similar to me. Someone who doesn't always like himself despite knowing he has value, someone who struggles with mental illness and not always being the most social able person around. The thing that you get when you become a fan of Kanye or at the very least began to listen more into his solo work is that beyond all the celebrity hype and drama he's still just a person like you or me but also with every stupid thing he does being blown completely out of proportion; let's face it his worst "crime" was being rude to someone at an awards show in a moment of emotion that to this day has been the foundation for a media circus which always wants to perpetuate people's image of Kanye - when it's not necessarily true. Ultimately no matter how much of a cock he makes of himself Kanye has, is and will always be completely his own flawed self and that's why I admire him so much.
he's a dick but he's also clearly fucked up guy can hardly even admit that he has depression issues. when he was growing up the big thing in hip-hop was "if you're black and have identity/self-worth issues thats ok because gold chainz and money", which his "i'm a god and i'll make it anywhere anytime" act is a biproduct of. it's all about feeling like shit about yourself and trying to compensate for it. or yknow hes just a dick, whichever
or if people don't get it he made an entire song about it
I really feel like kanye has serious mental health issues that go unaddressed because of his wealth and fame
He probably has a psychologist and a personal therapist to help deal with his mental problems and most likely could take medication if he wanted to. I'm not sure what you are trying to say with this post.
It'll be bad for his health if he doesn't give it a Kanye Rest.
He needs one if he wants to be on his Kanye Best.
Showing up with no shirt, no shoes, just his Kanye vest.
It's all he wears when he leaves his Kanye Nest.
I don't get all the Kanye hate. What has he actually done to warrant it? Sure he has a huge ego and can act like a dick, but whatever that's nothing.
i dont get all the kanye attention
Kanye is a great artist. People hate him for all the non-important celebrity bullshit, but I only care about his music and it's top notch shit.

it looks like hes just letting the crowd sing here. are people really mad about this?
it looks like hes just letting the crowd sing here. are people really mad about this?
The part where he starts signing is all kinds of fucked. Lyrics is off, pacing is weird, the pauses with the crowd...
I love Kanye and Kim. I dont really care about celebrity couples but I like them. I'd happily swap Kate and Wills for Kimye as our royalty. They get a lot of hate but I don't really think it's deserved. Kanye has this thing of having a big ego, but it always seems more a defence against his own insecurities and vulnerabilities.

I don't hate him though. [editline]2nd August 2016[/editline]
I love Kanye and Kim. I dont really care about celebrity couples but I like them. The only thing they're good for is to bring back fashion styles, and even then loads of those are questionable. I feel like Kanye is very misunderstood. Yes he has some negative aspects here and there, but I think deep down, its about him not being able to pass on his idea as he wanted. If theres someone I actually do hate, is will.i.am. What a pretentious douchebag.
will.i.am is the true clown of hip-hop. the TRUE clown. Hopsin is also a worthy candidate.
Keeping up with the Kardashian's is a guilty pleasure of mine. I don't even hate will.I.am, I haven't really cared about his any of his music he made after maybe 2002 and I think he can be a bit pretentious, but I think it seems to be more out of a love for thr stuff he does, which I respect. I often find myself drawn to people that are disliked for no real reason, underdogs maybe. I'm just not a hate filled person and I don't like it when people irrationally hate on others (it often seems to come from a place of jealousy), it just makes me respect the person more.
Swear to god in every thread about kanye you still get people that hate on kanye for no reason other than "lol gay fish!!!!!" It's not funny anymore try different jokes
Hating on Kanye is one of the many plights of the standard bitter internet nerd with a superiority complex. It's the same people who hate all "modern art" and resent youth culture. There are definetly legit reasons to criticise Kanye, but he is objectively one of the most influential and experimental artists alive today
Swear to god in every thread about kanye you still get people that hate on kanye for no reason other than "lol gay fish!!!!!" It's not funny anymore try different jokes
I agree, but this is also the first mention of "gay fish" anywhere in this thread
Even trained professionals occasionally slip, usually doesn't leave them depressed.
you've never preformed in front of an audience when i used to sing for our band, i used to be so fucking anxious any little slip up would leave me feeling awful for a month, it's INCREDIBLY stressful regardless of who you are cut the dude some slack, it's a really scary job
I can't hate Kanye. The man has a statue of Char's Zaku in his home
The shoulders are the wrong way though so he's basically hitler [t]http://i.imgur.com/FQuNX52.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/3lJUiPR.jpg[/t]
Even trained professionals occasionally slip, usually doesn't leave them depressed.
Where did you get that ridiculous notion from? Live stage performance is always a little nerve-wracking until you get into it. If I was performing in front of that many people and fucked up a song everyone knows, I'd probably feel like shit too.
He covered Bohemian Rhapsody? What the fuck? I know I'm late but damn, come on man. Why?
If I remember right, it's a running joke. Whenever that is not rock headlines, there's a bunch of complaints going "Glatsunbury is for rock'. So they would play a rock song for the joke

People here who say that any criticism against Kanye = "LOL GAY FISH MEMERS" are probably worse than the meme itself. It's appalling that some of you are pretending that Kanye is somehow immune from criticism. Are we forgetting the shit he's done with Swift? [editline]2nd August 2016[/editline]
Swear to god in every thread about kanye you still get people that hate on kanye for no reason other than "lol gay fish!!!!!" It's not funny anymore try different jokes
like no one else ever mentioned the word in this thread before you, like what do you deflect any criticism against george lucas because "george lucas raped my childhood memes"
you've never preformed in front of an audience when i used to sing for our band, i used to be so fucking anxious any little slip up would leave me feeling awful for a month, it's INCREDIBLY stressful regardless of who you are cut the dude some slack, it's a really scary job
Yeah, and as a person who's done some concerts in front of smaller crowds nearing a thousand some years back, it's an absolutely exhilarating feeling literally unmatched by anything to have a concert go well. So the highs and the lows are equally extreme. The dudes out there, and I don't get the love or the hate for the guy. He's made some impressive music but I just don't really care anymore. He's just kind of a public joke that he keeps making worse, but i'd rather just remember MBDTF for the masterpiece it is than bother with who the man behind it is now.
People here who say that any criticism against Kanye = "LOL GAY FISH MEMERS" are probably worse than the meme itself.
Nope.
i dont get all the kanye attention
pretty much every album he's put out has changed the hip hop scene massively, like popularizing soul samples and "killing" gangster rap with college dropout, an entirely different sound (which still influences artists today) and also more emotions with 808s and heartbreak, massive production with MBDTF etc
People here who say that any criticism against Kanye = "LOL GAY FISH MEMERS" are probably worse than the meme itself. It's appalling that some of you are pretending that Kanye is somehow immune from criticism. Are we forgetting the shit he's done with Swift?
none of the stuff this thread is about is bad though. the point is that people jump on kanye to talk shit no matter what it's about
He acts pretty childish and has an over inflated ego as can be seen by some of things he tweets or does.
I wouldn't say he acts childish. Over emotional? Sure, but he hasn't done anything too extreme since the Swift fiasco. He cares a lot about music, and he's extremely honest, which is what led to that whole scandal. But since then he has calmed down a lot, and he admits what he did was the wrong way to go about it. And he has an ego but imo it's pretty well desrved. When he says he's amazing at his job he's not lying, Kanye is probably one of the best mainstream rappers of our time, if not the best.
