Yeah that'd be like, version 1.0... take a look at version 2.0:

Oh god how AWESOME it would be if you could be "Robocain" for a day... *drool*
If they are allowed to gain conciousness, they will be able to evolve like humans do , but only in a terrifying faster rate, so in fact they WILL get more intelligent
Yes you're right, my bad, I meant we will never be able to create something that will be more intelligent than us.
Edit: It could learn to become more intelligent as you say, but not as we create it.
Why do people have to make robots like this.
They will only rebel and fight back.
I misread the title as "Lamb head found in Ikea.."
How on fucking earth did I do that.
9, anyone?
I'm ready

Bring it ON!!
We shall call them geth and they shall be free labour!
9 anyone?
I don't think he'll be that fast. Didn't they need a super computer with hundreds of terabytes of RAM to simulate a cat brain in not-realtime? It will take at least 20-30 years.
Edit:
Oh, he's getting tons of money. It could be possible in under 20 years.
Edit2:
Fuck. Ninja'd.
Fuck, here comes Skynet.
Maybe because that thread is right next to this one?
Name it Blaine and put it in a computer controlling a whole city
I sure as hell hope Asimov's 3 laws of robotics are taken into account when creating this.
We must destroy them all before they destroy us.
Looking forward to my future, remotely controlled, fembot wife.
But he said it can think, so it will still think it has rights like most woman today have.
Damn delusions
Anyone else think of the first Cylon from 'Caprica'??

Oh god, best way to break it;
S1
'So... Mr. Robot, could you promise me you will do something?'
'As long as it does not violate the three laws, or conflict in any combination of the three laws.'
S2
'I need you to promise...'
'I promise, will it violate the three laws?'

S3
'No...'
'Then I will obey!'
S4
'TEACH ME FRENCH IN THREE SECONDS!'
' I-- :psyboom:
Yeah, what then, fucking scientits?
(:smug:)
Just don't let it replicate and we should be fine.
This computer will probably be the size of a warehouse at first, anyway.
But he said it can think, so it will still think it has rights like most woman today have.

Yeah, but it took the womens quite a while before they got theirs.

Welp, Christians are going to kill it to avoid explaining themselves.

Thread about robots.
Insult Christians.
Makes so much sense.
damn fine progress son. i can't wait to see how this world goes to hell when half the world will view him as a murderer when he turns ot off for the first time.
then, a battle ensues about wether it's the same "person" we meet everytime he turns it on or if it's a clone with the same memories and what not.
ethics will go boom. THIS will cause the end of the world as we know it. forget apocalypse. whe world will drown in ethical questions, religious unease of wether this is right and political attempts to slow progress in the name of god.
myself: depending of many things, i might end up being that guy who believes this thing has rights. but let's wait and see.
