He never said they do. He's just saying that people shouldn't instantly assume it's a hate crime. Don't put words in his mouth.
I hold my boyfriend's hand in public
I am a badass

there's not much reason to try and sympathize with his actions if you don't believe that your hypothetical examples of a more acceptable reason aren't acceptable
there's a difference between putting words in someones mouth and being able to understand how the english language works
These posts that go straight to just blaming an area are such shitposts.
Grouping that many people with a monster like this is just plain stupid, sorry.
no alabama sucks regardless of there being a minority of actually intelligent people who aren't stuck in the 50's when it comes to social issues

sorry but there's nothing good in alabama that you can't find in a more pleasant area of the united states
Except in a few cases, death sentence is too... Easy. Because no matter the crime, the worst punishment is to live with the consequences that follow. Death is an easy way out.
While I do agree that he shouldn't get the death sentence, you got to remember, its a justice system and not a revenge system.
This is not really a reflection on the victim, but
Earlier this year, Travis Hawkins allegedly hit Owens over the head with a pipe wrench, but no charges were filed.
You'd think she would have just distanced after that, the guy is probably unstable and/or irrationally violent or something
Guys
it's supposedly not a hate crime. Supposedly the sisters girlfriend is whoring her the sister out and the brother beat the girlfriend for it.
Interesting, but "supposedly" isn't really a credible source
Wow, what a piece of crap.
in neither of those situations would his actions be justified

I'm not condoning the actions of attacker here but you shouldn't judge before knowing the full story. If both parties are claiming that it wasn't because she was gay then it might have been something more reasonable, not that anything could really justify this. What if the victim was an abusive partner and was beating on the guy's sister? She could have been sleeping around behind the sister's back or something else like that. I'm not saying that it was either of those things and what happened to her definitely wasn't right but lets not rush to call the guy a bigoted homophobic sack of shit before all the facts are straight. He might just be a regular sack of shit.
If you actually read what I posted you would see that I agree with you entirely. I wasn't talking about what he did, I was talking about everyone else's reaction to it.
Sickening.
we're calling him a man? men don't beat women. this guy is a shithead, not a man.
While I agree with the man being a shithead, men can beat women, if a woman start beating a man first.
