That ram is going to gimp it severely, but damn that is cheap
512MB? That's barely even a quarter of what I have, and my machine's an ancient bulky tower that's way past due an upgrade to the current generation. In other words it's horrifyingly weak; they'd probably sell way more if you could easily replace tablet components with superior mechanisms rather than buy a brand new one every time you want to upgrade.
My feeling of pride sadly prevents me from doing that.
I sometimes do it purely for the adrenaline kick. Although some of the times I end up returning the parts a few days later in broad daylight because they turned out to be useless. I'm such a rebel :v:

It's definitely the minimum you'd want to have, but it's enough. Jelly Bean runs fine on it, just look at CyanogenMod on the Kindle Fire or Galaxy S.
Oh yeah? My tablets are $1 a pop
Well, what do you expect for $39.99
I don't expect to get a very usable tablet for that price. Hence the second sentence. Did you even read that part?
shit id better tell my brother to not buy this, because he already has a really sweet tablet comming
I don't expect to get a very usable tablet for that price. Hence the second sentence. Did you even read that part?
Yeah because all the smart phones and tablets released ~mid-2011 and before were all useless and no one should have bought them, right?
Yeah because all the smart phones and tablets released ~2010 and before were all useless and no one should have bought them, right?
You'd have to put serious effort into misinterpreting me any harder. It's no longer 2010. Available specs are growing incredibly fast. Required specs are not growing as fast, and that's a big part of the reason why the cost of things keeps going down. However required specs are still growing. This is really cheap for the power you get, but no matter how you splice it, you aren't getting a ton of power with it. That limits the functionality, and for a lot of tasks, it doesn't matter how cheap it is, it's not worth it. The old adage, a bargain isn't a bargain if you can't use it, springs to mind.

You'd be hard pressed to find more than a few apps on Google Play that don't support 2011 era hardware, which is what this tablet has. Required specs are growing, yes, but it isn't so fast that you'd just be throwing $40 in the trash by buying this. Not to mention the GPU is mid-2012 era. [sp]Again, assuming the ROM isn't crap. Gotta wait for a review to see that.[/sp]
Android JB on a single core processor? LOL good fucking luck
What, no store in Arizona?
If that tablet is better than your computer, then the electronic waste containers at the nearby recycling center is a goldmine for you.
I got a GTX 590, and an i7 965 and EVGA motherboard out an E-waste recycling bin.
What, no store in Arizona?
Lol nope. We only have 2 Fry's Electronics.
If the closest Micro-Center wasn't 4 hours away in Minneapolis, I would actually have a place I would be happy to shop in. Closest thing we have is Best Buy and they don't have shit for computer stuff and/or its overpriced.
I would love to have a tablet to just sit on my coffee table for looking up something quick. Too bad this place isent in Washington id buy one.
That ram is going to gimp it severely, but damn that is cheap
The CPU isn't all that hot either, I have a Polaroid tablet with an A13 CPU, also 512MB of RAM, and the CPU manufacturer claims it can stream 1080p video with no problems, but this tablet can barely play videos resized to 800x480 and it still has a hiccup every now and then. This is WITH over-clocks. (the one cool thing about it is it came semi-rooted out of the box) That and for being marketed as an "internet tablet" it's very, very bad at doing anything internet related.
I'd rather not have a tablet at all
