I want another superhero movie that sticks with me for a long time, only ones I can think of now are TDK and Iron Man 1
It doesn't work that way. Writing the story however you need it is not good writing. Revealing that a character didn't die at all in the last movie so you can have him in this one is cheap and an insult.
I was saying that death needs weight, it needs to be permanent. What DC did was Superman was fucking dumb beyond measure and god modey.
wtf are you trying to tell me, you aren't making any sense. You're acting like I said "Lets bring him back" :v:. and a decoy would reveal that he OBVIOUSLY is very forever dead, and it'd be nothing but a cheap imitation, and nothing of the real thing.
Bringing back an emulation that is essentially a perfect replacement for the character in the plot is just the same as bringing him back from the dead just with a little more self-betrayal.

"Cheap imitation"
"A fair one, that is believable"
I never said "perfect replacement", I said something that's obviously a decoy/robot. Many people in the story could respond to the robot as being an insult to their dead friend. It could bring the feeling that he's not coming back ever, but it'd still have some of him in him, being a decoy.
It would be like if a character in star trek died and you had a very bland-in-contrast feeling android taking his exact place for nostalgia of said character, but no one in the story was happy with the decoy and wanted them to just rest freely.

Did you watch the prequels? The Incredible Hulk explains the difference between the Hulk on the Ship and the Hulk in New York.

It's too easy to say the one that Loki killed was an imitation, or that he survived after medical attention for them to do that, I watched it last night and it seemed that Coulson wanted to be seen being killed by Loki, and the resources of SHIELD would be enough to fake that.

fair, though, it seemed pretty real to me. Unless they have a good excuse and show it, I'd rather they didn't have him, or had a cheap decoy of him.
After all, like I said, death needs weight. it needs permanence, unless you 'resurrect' a character in a good enough way and don't just respawn people out of the blue. If you're going to kill people, be prepared to keep it that way.

What are the glaring flaws? The movies isn't perfect but I wouldn't say there were any huge flaws.

this one friend on steam said it "Didn't have real action".
Its main fight takes place in the middle of new york with tons of heroes fighting shitloads of bug henchmen and explosions everywhere and people running and screaming and and and yeah.

Why didnt thor just lightning bolt all the time hes the fucking thunder god
Why were they communicating with ear pieces they clearly didnt have
Why did all the aliens die when the ship exploded. Theyre not robots.
Lazy ass writing

Massive lightning attacks probably aren't easy for him. He isn't actually a god, just a member of a hyper advanced race.
It doesn't take too much imagination to assume that S.H.I.E.L.D could have developed ear pieces that are inside their ears so they can't be damaged as easily during combat.
They looked a lot like cyborgs to me, especially the big guys. Probably had a mental link to the big ship or something.
I'm not saying these are true, it is just some quick on the spot speculation but I wouldn't call any of them "glaring flaws". If you are going to nitpick that kind of problem you might as well just not watch films because they are in all of them.
You know what I noticed about the Avengers?
Like T2, it has a shit ton of action and a shit ton of character development, but in T2 it's more.....subtle. The two elements are inter-winded, and it doesn't really stick out that much. In Avengers, there were clearly the Let's-get-together part, the Let's-Go-Hannibal Lecter-On-Each-Other part, and the Let's-Smash-Things part.
[sp]Personally, I liked Terminator 2's action more, mostly due to how iconic it was. The motor cycle chase, the police swarming the building, the final fight with the T-1000, all of it just sticks with you. The action in the Avengers was one big clump, so it kind of blurs together.[/sp]

"glaring flaws"
Then you over-analyze... extremely minor things, every single movie ever made, ever has these small logical failings.
I'm sorry but if you want hyper realism and everything to be explained to you don't watch a movie.
Thor likely couldn't do that all the time because of a poor line of sight and its threat towards friends and allies, and it could take a fair amount out of him (or the weather was just "Too clear"). He is called a demigod in the movie, however, even full gods can die. Plus if he could just defeat everyone like that on easy mode there would be ZERO tension and therefore a glaring flaw in the fil,
ear pieces have been specialized for combat and made to not be easily seen.
aliens obviously are interconnected with the ship and take commands from it via a magic link or a cybernetic implant/have some matrix AI shit in their brain therefore, ship dies, they die.
and in Batman [sp] you could say the time between seeing batman in the cockpit and when the nuke explodes is far too short for batman to have escaped, therefore batman surviving is bullshit, but they could have said that if they didn't show batman in the cockpit.[/sp]
My only issue with the Avengers movie was its PG-13 rating.
One can only watch so many cars, hot dog stands, and buildings get crushed next to alarmed people without expecting at least one bystander be injured or killed in the chaos.
I'm actually pretty sure that they at one point make note that they have inner-ear communicators. And yeah, Thor doesn't have an unlimited reserve of energy. He can run out and I believe he damn near does at one point in the movie. There are also several reasons for one they would have all shutdown when the main ship was destroyed. Some form of telepathic link to the ship as a unified consciousness. Cyborgs being piloted by the main ship. And then there is the overarching fact that everything seems to be driven by Thanos. And while Thanos is basically a god (and far more powerful than most characters in Marvel and basically every superhero) in his own right, it is also noted that he pretty much has a subconscious desire to fail. Which is weird, but that's on Marvel's writers, not Joss Whedon. So no matter what, when it comes time to execute a plan, Thanos subconsciously leaves a gap open that will allow his opponents to beat him.

yes every movie has its flaws. not every movie has flaws that stand out to me as much. But you misunderstand. I enjoyed the Avengers. It was just kind of dumb and it could have been not dumb very easily.

though, they are shitty mistakes but, there are shitloads of things going on, best is to just ignore and live with it. Boba fett "died" in the original star wars, but comes back the next movie, I heard. These things happen all the time.
Not really. It bugs me when something happens for plot convenience and is never really explained. Oh now the ship's gone so we suddenly don't have to worry about all this other shit for some reason?? ok cool.
The only people I can see not being at least a little bothered by stuff like that are the "turn your brain off and munch on your goddamn popcorn" type of people, who I honestly believe are fucking idiots
What shit don't they have to worry about?
They've got Thanos' attention now and it's not like crime and danger just suddenly stops now because they defeated the initial Chitauri attack.
The first The Avengers film was literally just another day in the life of the heroes, now that shit will seriously hit the fan.
also as a fan of film as a medium I'd really appreciate it if you didn't try to tell me not to watch movies for whatever dumb reasons you come up with in response to my offensive opinions thanks in advance!
so wait crow just because im willing to overlook certain flaws in a movie and have a healthy suspension of disbelief so that i can just enjoy the ride that makes me a fucking idiot?

No but if your argument is "why did you even notice those flaws you're over analyzing!" when they're apparent to anyone who's actually thinking about the film on a BASIC level, that's stupid.

And why did you say "Just the shit ones" on the previous page about movies with flaws if it wasn't bad? You're just going back and forth on it really.
In my opinion, the Avengers was great but not original in the slightest (aside from the premise, being a sequel of several films in one)
Also I'm eagerly awaiting to see DC's response

The only possible plot holes in the Avengers comes from not watching the prequels.

IM3 is the last one with Robert Downey Jr. but he will return for Avengers 2.

Its the last one for his contract, but hes said nothing about quitting his role as Iron Man. He just said something like "If it gets old or I don't want to do it to much and its the only thing I can do"
I forgot his exact words, but as long as it doesnt suck hes all for being Iron man.
I didn't really enjoy the Avengers. It's one of those films you watch and then forget about.

To each their own. I fondly remember the film for being legitimately the most fun and laugh-out-loud films I watched last year. Yeah, it doesn't have a whole lot of depth to it but god damn did I have a good time.
I felt insulted, as if someone expected me to be entertained by a childrens book.
